We drag a piece of chainlink fence to break up the patties. And scatter them. Got to love the dogs. Have a good one

Thanks Gerrald. If I do this again I think I’ll pull a drag harrow and ring roller behind the aerator to break up pies better! Thanks for the idea!

It will be interesting to see how it does in the spring. I'm sure you'll see a difference in plant growth, even if it's marginal. I love the dog loading part of the video! Well done man, enjoyable as always!

Thank you Chris! Yes I’m really hoping the aerator is a success, I don’t expect much if any noticeable difference until March or so. Still I want to reassess it monthly, just to see what I can learn. Glad you enjoyed the dogs, I never know if I should include stuff like that or not, so thanks for mentioning it!

Our dog Bubbles is getting too old to jump in the box of the truck and I have to lift her. She doesn't like to miss out whenever I go anywhere and really enjoys the ride.

What are the humps for? our flat fields look like that but where your humped up lines are our low points where drainage tile is placed every 40'
@farmertylerranch4399
@farmertylerranch4399 5 жыл бұрын
Good question. The humps (or levees as we call them) are used to direct water during flood irrigation in the summertime. At one end of the field there is a buried pipeline with valves in between each levee. During summer you open the valves and flood each “check”(area in between the levees) to irrigate the grass. Hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching Laurel Creek!

Makes perfect sense. We have the opposite problems I'm trying to drain extra water and you are trying to add. We very rarely have any drought problems.

When I was in college a kid from Oregon was asking all the same kind of questions. All he had ever seen was a centerpivot style irrigation system. Just kind of funny how across the country we’re all doing the same thing in such different ways

Your pasture is suffering from compaction. Aeration needs to be done as often as possible to make a difference. Preferably in moist conditions so as the knives will penetrate deeper and easier.

Those pups are too cute!!! Might I suggest that you add as much details to your titles if you can so that people can find you more + easier? If that makes sense? Like mentioning the dogs in the title will get more hits maybe? Idk just a thought. 😂🤷‍♀️😂Looove your content
@farmertylerranch4399

Thanks Mrs. S! Not a bad idea. Titles are actually really hard to come up with! They have to be catchy, descriptive, and interesting all at once. The title and the picture are probably the hardest things to get right and they have the greatest effect on how many people will watch. I like your suggestion though, maybe need to touch on the more endearing aspects of the video as well!

@@farmertylerranch4399 yes!! Throw it all in there!! Lol but ya I'd stew about a title for eons prob lol my favorite picture that you did for 1 of your videos is the close up of the cow's hind end 😅😂😂😂it's like "wait What??!" And there you go 🙌😜😂

I never could visually see a difference when I seen it was when I bales the hay that’s when I seen the difference
@farmertylerranch4399
@farmertylerranch4399 5 жыл бұрын
Yes that sounds right. I may cut small random samples (one square foot) in March and weigh them out if it is really hard to see any difference. I’m hoping for big results but not really expecting them you know?

Figure the aerator probably works better on poor ground? I don’t know but my ground certainly isn’t the best either!
