Hey Morgan (and everyone in the comments). Just wanted to point out that the math is either wrong on Pat's end or they are advertising their weights wrong on their website AND Sephora. Online, it says the Celestial Divinity Interstellar Icon palette had 4 x 1.98g of product, totaling 7.92g, while the new Celestial Odyssey quads have 4 x 1.75g of product, totaling 7g. The difference is nowhere near half. And the Celestial Divinity Risque Rose palette had 4 x 1.88g, totaling 7.52g, even less of a difference from this year's new quads. Just wanted to clear that up because everyone seems really upset about this and I'm not entirely sure there is that much of a weight difference. Hope that helps!

I commented on this too. But when Morgan reviewed the quads, the actual packaging reveals the true grams. It’s actually only 4.4 grams of total weight for the new quads, as printed on the sticker label on the quad itself. The websites are listing it incorrectly. This should be changed.

Just fyi, Sephora does not have listed the new quads on their site. So maybe they had them up and took them down because of the incorrect information? Not sure, but they aren’t available.

If you have time I would love to see another video where you do one eye with one of the new quads and the other eye with shades from her other quads or palettes that were similar. Just to see how different or similar they would look on the eye. Like the shades you were comparing in your hand swatches.

I was considering getting one of the quads, but after learning about the huge difference in pan size and difference in packaging, I can't justify the cost. I realize that ingredients are getting harder to import and covid is still affecting production to one degree or another, but bring the price down further if you can't provide more/better product. I very happy with my Mega palette and cheek trio from this year, I just wish she didn't skimp on the quads, since I buy more quads from her than anything.

That’s absolutely shocking. PM dropped the amount of product to almost half and kept the same price??!!! Oh hell naaw! Those little quads were already overpriced to begin with and in comparison to the larger palettes, and on top of that we are losing half of the product??! What are they high on??! So, that I’m seeing here is, luxe brands are keeping the “sticker of luxe” BUT they are decreasing Quality offered, amount, and finishing details, that at the end, are failing in my category of just “high end, trying us as “vulgar consumers” instead giving us the same as the beginning. So sad, but you know what? we as consumers have the option to stop with that and force them to do the right.

Feel like pat is slowly decreasing her value in her products. The first quads where al special shades, then high quality shades but not special shades now she also making smaller pans... Also all of the pink pallets because the probably sell very well but are very repetitive... I hope that the next pallete will be a step in the right direction ! Because i love her brand i hope it doesn't fall into that trap.

I’m not defending PMG but the amount of product in these quads is the same as the voyeuristic quad from the spring. The pans are different but you get the same amount of eyeshadow which is interesting. I checked the website to research after I saw Emily’s Makeup Bag’s video and the weights are the same: the new holiday quads and the voyeuristic vixen quad are both 4 x 1.75g / 0.6oz. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I received the quads and highlighter yesterday as well. This one took forever where the mega palette came a day or two after ordering it. The pan size was definitely my only issue with these quads but I agree they are not needed but I like to collect PMG so that’s why I purchased them but I am going to have fun with them though.

I'm a bit confused as to why people think there is such a significant drop in the amount of product.... Last years palette is .17 oz. and this year's is .15 oz according to Kinkysweat…. The true difference in eyeshadow, from my understanding is .02; that's not a huge difference so there's no need to be a huge drop in price. Anyway, I'm a Pat fan but I'm not tryin to be biased; please correct me if you saw something different regarding the amount of product.

I have last year's palette, the interstellar icon, and its total weight is 8g (2g per shadow, it's what it says on the box) But I've seen kinkysweat's video and she says that the quads are 4.4g (which would equal to 1.1g per shadow), which is confusing, since the pmg website says 1.75g per shadow (which is way more than 4.4g in total) So yeah, I'm just very confused about this situation tbh

@@freya7000 I want to first mention that I do not have the new quad. Everything that I’ve seen comes from the website for the new quad. I do however have the previous two quads to compare the numbers. Also note, that I believe there is a typo on the Pat McGrath website since it says it is .6 ounces but on the Sephora website it says that it is .06. I believe we already established that the photos used were not correct, and according to the information portion, the packaging must be miss labeled unless the packaging on the website differs from the actual packaging that people received because according to the information boxes for the new quads See below: 2019: 4*2g= 8 grams= .28oz 2020: 4*1.5= 6 grams= .21oz 2021: 4*1.75= 7 grams= .24oz I believe all this is confusing especially for those of us who live in the states and don’t necessarily use grams / ounces in our day-to-day life, but Pat McGrath’s team should’ve corrected this error for sure. It’s always easier to see the numbers in the same category etc. instead of trying to convert things or switch things over; which is why I went directly to the website to see what the numbers said on the Sephora website/Pat McGrath website because I’m not in the business of converting. Hopefully this helps!

I have been waiting for this video to see if I should order the quads. So glad I didn't just get it on release, I would have been disappointed. I bought the Nars Climax palette this week and got so much more bang for my bucks! And now I've decided to skip these quads, I'm going to pick up Bijoux too, even though I totally don't need it. 😂 I think Pat should release another blitz astral quad, they're so unique and gorgeous so we don't care that they're expensive.

The costs of EVERYTHING that is available to buy on this planet has soared! Every single ingredient will have cost so much more this year than in previous years. I have no idea what it's like in the US, but here in the UK and Europe, there's a noticeable shortage of HGV drivers (massive trucks). Whether this has added to the waiting time to receive products I don't know, but it might be 🤷‍♀️. Blingy highlighter isn't my jam, so I'm skipping on that. I'm also skipping on the quads, I have singles from SG and Makeup Geek that cover these shades - I know this because I've created very very similar looks to those you have in this vid. I can just imagine our Mel with THAT highlighter, she definitely would have bought a spare - for her collectors pieces. Her nose would've really had a substantial glow. I have a lot of family that are truckers (US), and they’ve been working the whole time. The ports are not moving product, and for some reason they’re doing that. They have workers there and plenty of trucks ready.... but no moving. I personally think it’s big corporations slowing things down to cause a panic and high rise in escalation of prices. They saw what we did the beginning of the pandemic, and they saw how crazy we acted. I don’t know, something I’ve thought about.

@@roselynmvm I understand your skepticism and I have no idea but things like capicola, which I got from Italy, I haven’t been able to get since March 2020 and Brie, which I get from France, is so hot and cold whether I can get it at all. I’m getting 2 price sheets a week with new prices when typically price sheets came every couple years. I just don’t think how much the pandemic has really affected supply chains and costs is widely understood if you’re not buying wholesale. I have also eaten every penny of the cost increases so far because I’m hoping it’s temporary and I don’t want my Lise my entire business by raising prices and losing customers but Pat has a pretty loyal fan base so she probably did the math.

The highlighter is so pretty. I have the Divine Rose highlighter and I do like that one. I picked up the Pat McGrath Mega Mothership Celestial Odyssey palette. This is great for one and done looks. I didn’t pick up the quads because I don’t use them. I go for medium sized palettes, typically. If I do pick up a small palette, it will be an inexpensive one to throw in my purse.

I’m very disappointed with the Quad shadow pan size. This makes them very expensive. Although they are very pretty, I’m seriously considering sending mine back when they arrive and wait for a sale. And for all those saying, well I’ve never hit pan on an eyeshadow, that’s not the point. The point is the brand is way up charging per gram for these quads.

Someone made a good point on Alicia’s video which is the smaller product amount could have been at least partly due to all the strain on our shipping and supply chain this year. I work in international logistics and importation has been incredibly difficult this year from a number of factors, not to mention the truck shortage here in the states once product reaches a port or terminal. I think these were made in the U.S. of U.S. and imported ingredients, but just some food for thought. They may have been trying to solve some supply chain issues and get these released on time, rather than trying to short-change anyone 🤷‍♀️ at least they are a few bucks less than previous quads.

@@aprilherndon447 My Husband owns two companies. One is automotive related. We know all too well about the issues in acquiring products that are needed for our finished products. Although wholesale prices have increased due to these issues, Hubby decided it was Not in his customers best interests to raise the prices on the retail product. Many people are having a difficult time financially, but as long as we can still absorb the cost he will Not gouge his customers. The markup on cosmetics is very high. PM is not hurting financially as one can see when her company has Big sales of 30% off on her website. The markup is high....

Pretty products but not sure I’ll pick them up this year. I’m kind of annoyed at the size discrepancy but no real difference in price. You can’t tell me the packaging costs that much. It would have been a great opportunity to come down closer to the $40 mark, get more people hooked on her formulas and hype, and people would have been talking these quads up, not feeling like she tried pulling the wool over our eyes. It will be interesting to see if the Motherships change in price or size.

Personal preference! I only have Divine Rose 1 and i have bought the bronze quad because regardless of the less product issue these are my everyday colours and i'll likely still never use the whole thing! Cant wait 💜🥰

Thank you for the excellent video. I love the second eye quad on you; the duo chrome shade is very flattering. I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation for the highlighter and I would love to tell PML to forget it and just refund me, but I doubt I would get a response. I miss the days when PML’s customer service employees were responsive and helpful, oftentimes going above and beyond to satisfy customers.

I ordered the new highlighter on sep 29 and didn’t ship until today! I had to email them the other day about it, my pallet came in so I was expecting my highlighter too, that’s what made me look up the tracking

All of my Pat Holiday arrives tomorrow but I skipped the quads. The vixen quad is the only one I have been really excited for. The rest of I have purchased have always been after they go on sale and that is maybe 3 others. I have all motherships and 3 6-pans but just don’t think quads are a value.

The shipping as an international customer is even worse. I placed my order for the quads and larger palette when it went live and it wasnt til today I got my shipping confirmation. I would order it from anywhere else than her site if it was possible but our options are a bit limited.

Same here girl… I ordered the mega palette on September 23rd, the day of the launch. The order was shipped on September 26th but I only received it this week!!! I live in France btw. International shipping is hell with this brand and I don’t get why?! When I order from Revolve in the US, I get my order 2 to 3 days later with Fedex. It’s not that complicated! Pat just chooses the cheapest and longest alternative which is not acceptable for a luxury brand.

I feel like I dodge the bullet on this one. I have been collecting all the quads and the mothership pallets. And this time I wasn’t as enthusiastic to get it. Hope I keep this up I mean giving up the addiction can be exhilarating. No more pressure on me whether i will buy it or not. It’s freeing.8 quads, 9 mothership and 1 mega celestial..I am done.

Great review. I skipped on the eyeshadows but I had to pick up the highlighter. I own all her others and I think this my be the best one so far. I own way too many highlighter but I could not resist. I have to say if you are going to get Hermes highlighter skip that one to gold looking but P.M. wins hands down.

It's been on the news that companies are having trouble with shipping,alot are backed up due to shortage of workers and trucks.so they say to order way ahead of time for the holidays cause things are going to take longer.

Oh shipping! I’m in Australia and ordered the celestial odyssey palette. Then the US decided to drastically reduce shipping to our country 🙄. My palette has been sitting around seemingly halfway for sooo long and I’m not sure if it will ever come!

I sent Bronze Borealis back, I didn't know the pans would be a different size and I just didn't get on with the shadows. good customer service though.
