I think all the motherships (black ones) and the large palettes are called artistry palette, what I heard is because you can use the shades in other parts of the body - like as blush, highlight and such

Thank you for such an in depth review. The BF sale just hit and i started loading a cart. Then i stopped and went looking for reviews. When i really looked, i didn't want it. I have those mattes several times over in my collection and none of the shimmers are that unique. I grabbed the 2 five pans instead. Im happy with my purchase and saved a bundle. Thanks again!

Not only do you demonstrate these beautiful, wearable looks to get out of this pallet but you always discuss the pros and cons of a pallet, along with great comparisons. I had no desire to purchase this pallet but somehow you showed the pallet in a way that makes me want it. Thanks for such a well-rounded review! I really like that you focused on getting softer looks out of what, on the face of it is a pretty loud palette. I initially didn't want to pick it up, then got stuck on the fence, now back to skipping on it, unless it's a flop and ends up with an insane discount. I don't use my bigger palettes all that much and I'm only really drawn to the green 6 pan part of the colour story. I was going to console myself with one of the smaller holiday palettes from Pat, but they're a bit boring. I wish she had reversed the offering to have some smaller colourful palettes and a larger more neutral palette - for me that would make this collection a bit more accessible. Fingers crossed the step away from pinks/golds in this holiday palette is a signal that we're OK to move that direction in a Mothership next year! We can dream. 🤷‍♀❤

oh man such a GREAT review of this palette!!! i'm basically with you on everything you shared. for anyone new to PMG or who likes more colors, this is a great option. and it's also a great option for someone who wants the best of both worlds as you've elegantly demonstrated how wearable to bright colors can be too! but you're right, i prefer medium sized palettes the most, mainly bc i hold my palette with one hand while i do looks in my bathroom lol. for someone who lays their palette on a table while doing their makeup it's less cumbersome. at this point i am still happiest with my Motherships and quads but i almost want to buy this on principle so she keeps releasing more daring colors for us haha. the more colorful mattes definitely provide more options than her holiday release last year. i didn't get her recent subliminal 6-pan re-release bc i was mesmermized by this announcement but if she reopens the vault i would gladly get it now bc they were the perfect 6 taupe shades haha. and the packaging art was chef's kiss. and my fav look was your lavender periwinkle omggg i never would have guessed it was from this!!

I DO think that this years mega is “better” than the previous 2 years, in that there is a better shimmer and matte balance. Last year there were 4 mattes, 2 pink and 2 brown and that was just a waste. I also think the 5/6 pink and gold shades in this year’s palette are a waste at this point. It’s the PM version of a bone shade. I am not a mega person anymore I guess. I don’t reach for the ones I have very often, mostly cause I feel ridiculous! This years is literally bigger than your head! I don’t have a professional storage area, so no I think. I do wish PM was doing some holiday quads with a special shade or 2. The quints look like all the shades I already have coming out of my ears from PM.

I purchased the last two Celestial Palettes which stood out due to the colourful shimmers and very limited neutral mattes. This palette is very different and I personally feel that the mattes should have been shimmers and the shimmers, mattes. These shimmers are mostly golds that we honestly don't need. What made the last two palettes special, was the selection of colourful shimmers plus the amount of them. Every review I've seen has everyone going into the neutral shades, especially the browns. I've seen two reviews that used a brighter matte as a base which were disastrous. This is far from a useable palette which the last two were. We didn't need vibrant mattes, just beautiful, special shimmers that suit the majority. It worries me hearing that these shadows are staining you. I've never had a shadow ever stain my eyes nor my arm when swatching and this is a concern. I also don't like that these shades are grouped into three sections but it should be let to us to decide how we apply in our own way. That bright pink can be used but only after calming down with other shades. I did see someone compare the Natasha Denona Love Palette which is quite close. Pat should pay attention to the positive reviews that the five pan palettes received which were very wearable, unlike the crazy Mascaras that I haven't seen anyone review yet. What made these Celestial Palettes exciting were the amount of beautiful shimmers for the Holiday Season. It's not as if we need more mattes, especially in these shades. Being in Australia, it can take six weeks for a palette to arrive and having this year's products being dropped at different times, makes this a huge MISS. Sorry Pat, but this was a massive fail in my opinion.🇦🇺💖🕊

Your point about the shipping is a really good one! Holiday collections for brands that historically were "creative" brands is tough because half of the consumers want something easy and accessible and the other half want something unique and artistic

Personally, if you want to dish out this amount for a palette - I would recommend waiting for a sale and purchase a mothership instead. The quality of the shades is superior, you get more finishes and textures and just generally, they are so much more inspiring! As well as having the more luxe experience of the packaging.
