I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

Charlotte Thank you for not bashing the palette! So many ppl purchased yet no one is just simply saying they like it, without controversy. I’ve owned every mothership and If she had released a blue palette I absolutely would not have purchased.

I am a bridal artist and finally ordered my first pat mcgrath palette. I chose this one because i think its the most bridal color story but also glam. I was afraid it would be a bit too orange or warm but I am glad you showed it to us in your tutorial and the shades seem really wearable!

I really appreciate your light hand looks. Many of the videos coming out of this palette all have incredibly red-based crease colors and are highly glittery. Not all of us are twenty years old nor go to black tie events often; it looks like you can use this palette in everyday life.

I just ordered this palette during the Black Friday sale in the U.S. I've heard a lot of negativity about this palette, but for me, it looks like it will be perfect. I'm an older woman who is past the age when I can do dark, dramatic looks or super colorful looks. I need something that will lighten and brighten my face, and the shadows in this palette look like they will be right up my alley. I have the Mothership VII, which is fine. On the Pat McGrath website, that palette looks very light and approachable, but in person, half the shades are really too dark for me. I'd go so far as to say it really doesn't even look like the same palette as shown on the website. So I'm just hoping that the Sunlit Seduction palette will be more user friendly ... for me. The shadows looked fabulous on you ... but then again, you always look fabulous!

My husband unexpectedly surprised me with this, and I am in love. Yes, with him, but also the palette! I am relatively new to PML, I only have a few other palettes, and I am so pleased with this one. I do have a quad of her astral blitz baked shades, and I’m fine pulling that out if I feel the need. I think this will be the first PML palette I hit pan on.

I wasn’t mad at the colour story. I hoped to be pleasantly surprised like I was with Moonlit Seduction, which is probably now my most used. It is like a Pillow Talk mothership. However, the dealbreaker is the special shades. I did get it for £69 but I would rather PML put it’s prices up and kept the quality. They were so finely milled and were flattering in a way other shades are not. These remind me of CT pop shades that get all over your face. I have a neutral undertone and never use the bronzes or golds. Going forward if they remain like this I’m out. But it does make me appreciate and cherish my other motherships more. Thanks Charlotte….I passed on it as you said I have a number of similar colour palettes from PM and I wanted to spend my money on others that interested me !! I ended up buying Lisa Eldridge’s Cinnabar and a lovely new lip Velveteen from her in Affair and Dragon (gorgeous) ready for autumn!! Hola Charlotte! I am a neutral gal that loves the quality of PM eyeshadow. I own two mothership palettes, VI and VII. The criteria to purchased them (the price is quite steep for my liking) was that I needed to use every single shade. I loved the color story of mothership V but that red shade kept me from buying it. The same goes for mothership XI; I love the color story and find it wearable but that burgundy/red shade just throws me off. I am still debating in getting mothership XI (with discount of course) because I truly think I will use it and enjoy it. Thank you for hard work!

This looks very wearable to me too. I might try the red on the lips or in a corner. I don’t know. I got the message that Pat has an August sale on now “with restrictions”. Supposedly the Moonlit Seduction is exempt from the 30% discount on orders $100 or more. I can wait until this goes on sale. Viseart has an August on now too, BTW. This palette looks very beautiful on you. I think it is more of a luxury palette than a runway palette and Pat is in Ulta now.

This was a great review, and OMG congrats on the discount! way to go ::: applause::: I am neutral on this pallet- I am not getting it, yet I find it to be pretty. I know people say oh, why is it the same or oh why not something different or thankful there is no gold ( she is a massive Star Wars fan, and C3PO is her fav...so the math people) I swear people are never satisfied. Yet, you made a great point about it could be a great starter for those who don;t have any of the mothership pallets. Very wearable colors. Thank you Charlotte!

I'm actually quite interested in the red shade, but it looks like it'll def need some extra work and sticky prep. Which I'm willing to do. That last shade is incredible looking!

This looks so beautiful on you, thank you for being the one review I have seen that did not feel the need to use ALL the pink & red shades at one time and then complain about it being too pink & red!! Listen, some of us do not have every palette Pat McGrath has ever done… I myself came to the party later than some and have all the Motherships EXCEPT Divine Rose 1 and Huetopian Dream… plus one quad (Venusian Sunrise which I love). So this palette has been great for me I really love it… it is super wearable, flattering and easy to use. And I myself have no problem going into a different palette to use a browner matte for the transition shade, or a blitz astral, etc. I kind of feel like this is really the companion piece to Moonlit Seduction which were colors that looked lit by the moon, whereas these are colors that look like they are lit by the sun.

I have all of Mother’s motherships, and I have ordered this one. I love the colour story, though as you say, we’ve see it all before. However I think there is enough of a difference for me. I love that red shade that you don’t like! I am very fair ( as in totally pale and looking anaemic, which I am not!) so that red looks great with my red hair. Your looks are gorgeous!

Check out midnight sun if that is your vibe. That one is wearable but can also be easily dressed up. It is my favourite palette, not just by Pat, but in general. Some find it too dark. I am fair but think it works well with me. She did a 40% off discount last year after (I think) Black Friday... Maybe wait and see.

I'm one who happened to have bleeping insomnia and caught your code in the middle of the night. I have all the Motherships and was actually going to pass on this for a while (until a sale basically) mostly because I have an entire shelf of just Pat McGrath eyeshadow and I kinda felt like I'm not trying anything new because I have at least over 200 shades including 6 pans, quads, singles, and holiday. I'm glad I ordered it, it is a pretty palette, but it's missing Pat's touch. It's wearable, it's not like it's ugly or something, it's just not spicy at all. Like unsalted potatoes. I don't know how to explain it. Also, there's another 30% off sale that started today. Something is going on with her brand, I don't know what though.

@@J_loves_lu I love Pat, the artist. She's doing the looks for between 60-80 shows from the top fashion houses every year, which influences what they put out in their own cosmetic collections. Plus, I believe she's one of the creative editors at Vogue, or British Vogue. There's really no way to separate her work from high fashion, but with her actual name on this, I'd like to see more of the avant-garde, but maybe there's too much risk involved. I'm not mad, I'm just finally realizing that buying everything from her brand means I rarely try anything new anymore. I don't even need anything from this sale! 🤣

That crimson red shade... I felt so bad for you when you laid it down and then tried to blend it and it just sat there like a brick. She wasn't moving. Agree that there arent any showstopper shades in this palette but I'm glad to have it at the 30% off price.

I have the Subliminal, Bronze seduction, Moonlit seduction, Velvet Liaison and Venus in Fleur palettes, and that's plenty enough pink for me. This new one looks very pretty, but there seems to be a fair amount of repetition in most of her palettes. I wonder though, if somebody may have jumped the gun releasing it before it was supposed to, and with the massive discount code on a new release being leaked, and then it being removed pretty pronto 🤔. Brilliant for those of you who nabbed one in time 👍.

The THANKS30 code is one that I got by them because of the super late shipment of my last order. So I assume that others did too, and they probably did not think it would have been used by others! When I ordered mine on launch day, when I tried to see if the code would work on it, it told me to enter my email first. Then I was able to get the discount. So I think it was only intended for those of us who had been waiting like 3 weeks for our orders that had not shipped yet ;-)

The “Thanks30 “ was a marketing strategy to foment the FOMO ,cus the ppl on the group was on the edge of boycott , during the sale it sparked the excitement on some of them , not on me , I don’t want this one , another colour combination that makes ppl look like had been punched on the face ! I think Pat McGrath colour story suits much more who have dark skin tone ! But I got an amazing deal on the sale , a set with a quad , bronzer and brush, all for £35 , it was a mistake , cus when I come back to the site to send the link to friend of mine it was already corrected to £58 , the palettes for £99 was there for the whole time !!!!

Like everyone else, Pat just played it safe, and she in my opinion, disappointed herself. Pat McGrath is known for her artistry coming through with the uniqueness of her eyeshadow formulas. Not the shades as we know that’s where she really struggles to please but again that is on her. As fans of the brand, we put up with repeated shades in Motherships… we put up with the shady business of putting an old highlighter into a Mothership posing as a new eyeshadow. We put up with the mats being the same color story… We put up with the often patchy, dark matte in the motherships. We excepted and continue to support Pat McGrath, because we invested in the special shades which only she can do. We are paying for the Baked formulas. The rest of the shades in her motherships we can easily dupe over and over. Some particularly the dark Mattes, we even have better quality. With this being said👆 we continued to look the other way, and continue purchasing each new pallet. UNTIL….. What we have here is a high end packaged, good quality, pressed powder, now now over priced eyeshadow palette. Oh, I did not buy this pallet and it’s still killing me that I don’t have it … I just can’t do it. I just can’t allow Pat to rip me off, and I have been loyal from the beginning and purchased ALL. Of her pallets and this is what you offer us. I don’t know if I am exaggerating, but this could be a turning point for the brand . I am far from the only one feeling this way. My fear is, Pat went from Creative Artist to savvy businesswoman. I guess time will tell …

I love the palette . Yes is similar to some others but not the same to me. Your code didn’t work for me. I did use code Sunlit15 and it worked. Listed for normal $128 like the others. Took 10 or 11 days to get to me. Love the formula as always. My favorite. Xo 💖💄💄. I agree on that reddish color could have been left out. Don’t love it. My 8th mothership .

Controversy is now the formulas not the colour story based on all the reviews. Most reviewers are finding the formula disappointing and that even the usual shimmers are thicker and having difficulty layering. And that red looks patchy. Most would come around to the colour story but not a downgrade in formula from Moonlit Seduction - not worth $220 AUD. So disappointed I cannot get that golden peach as a single.

This mothership was a pass from me and that red shade is not for me and a few reviews have said the same that the red shade hasn't performed very well. For a 10 pan palette at that price point 🤨 mother has to do better 😏

I love pat McGrath and collected every palette till now. I think the leak and code was intentional to sell more of it after seeing so much negativity. I am part of a fan group and saw a few wasn't going to get it but for that price I got it. She hearted the reaction and yes it's really her in the group. So this is my conspiracy. But yes I can't more omg pinks and pink is my favorite color. It's too much from any brand let alone a luxury brand. It's really turned me off from the brand and I'm a hardcore fan. Think I'm done with the brand honestly because I have gotten into indie brand and seeing her formula isn't that special. Hope everyone who purchased it does get use out of their purchase and love it. It's just a hard pass, especially with cheapening the special shades

Honestly, I wouldn’t pay full price for this Mothership palette. It’s a beautiful color story and I love the looks that you created. But, I’m not feeling as excited about this palette as I did in her previous releases. I watched one of her lives and I love that by her creating these pinky palettes, it allows the palettes to be face and lip palettes, but I just find that she’s starting to run out of finishes.

I think the biggest disappointment with this iteration of the mothership is that this is so dated and uninspired… the pink thing may have now a very temporary hype again due to Barbie. But apart from that pink feels so yesterday that it felt yesterday already when Natasha Denona did her first Valentines palette… I also think the lacking in the special shade department is a huge disappointment. As that means this is just a cash grab for the company since the advance for this palette will be a lot higher than if there were real special shades in it… I do not agree that this is toned down and that the special shades can be too much for some. I think it’s quite the opposite. I think these sparkly shades in this palette can easily be too much for people as they are so textured… The ‘real’ special shades are so smooth and thin and therefore works much better on most people without becoming too much or just glitter, sparkle galore. As they adhere much better with a much thinner layer. But they are expensive. And Mother likes to make money more these days than she likes to make makeup..l I can relate to that too… the common development when growing big… For those who for whatever reason have missed the years of pink or belong to the perpetually pink party - then this is probably good. It should have a different name though… instead of the Mothership palette… It could be the (a)Nothership palette…😘

I have Ritualistic Rose and Divine Rose Ii and never wear them. I have been scared off Pat McGrath. The problem, is so much glitter! I can't wear so much glitter except on New Year's Eve. How do people get away with all that glitter and glitter fallout during regular daytime hours? By lunchtime my face, including even my forehead, looks like a starry night sky. I won't buy any more Pat McGrath unless every day becomes New Year's Eve. A little shimmer is nice . Fullout glitter is like wearing a sequin gown as pajamas.

We are now entering the fall of pat McGrath. It's a brand now for collectors and reviewers. And even now the collectors are getting hacked off. It's only a matter of time when reviewers will start thinking twice at this going rate. It's a shame how it's not like how it used to be before 2020.

I honestly don't believe it's worth, what it now seems to be, the £99 asking price and most definitely not the usual £120!!
