The same but in Toronto on Lake Ontario, June '82. What a beautiful night, I was with two of my very closest friends, I had just graduated from U of T, it was a bittersweet moment when I said goodbye to university life, and goodbye to Canada. I miss Lyle Mays too...

I have listened to this music for so many years, Travels, and it always sounds incredible, always evokes some feeling of nostalgia, longing for a new journey, new adventure, new feeling of joy of being on the road again. So many memories. the concert in Wrocław some 30 or more years ago. This music will never get old. Thank you Pat and Lyle.

You can't beat Pat in an way shape or form in what he brings us. Especially with the other equally talented musicians in this group. So much of himself is thrown at your ears and soul it's impossible to not get into the beat/cadence and his vibe. Always classy sounds with a magnetized energy pulling me into the scene he paints with his guitar. 'Are you going with me' and 'To the end of the world' are my fav by Pat. They truly take me somewhere else.

I've heard this song starting from the album version (oframp), the live travels version and the live version on various pmg live tour dvds, I've even watched it live when pmg was live in my home town. I conclude, only the version of live album TRAVELS 1983 is the version of "are you going with me" that the best and most brilliant. The guitar synthizer improvisation here is the most perfect in my opinion. And if you try to listen to other PMG live, you won't be able to get a solo version of this song that is so beautiful, incredibly melodic, very mature emotionaly. I think the live album Travels 1983 is the pinnacle of Pat Metheny's genius solo on this song.

I hadn't listened to this track in a while and it sounded so good. Pat & Lyle were just unbelievable on this recording. It's one of my all time favorites fusion jazz selections. Just awesome! Still sounds as great as when I first heard it.
