I saw Pat for the first time ever last month in London. I was enthralled. I can honestly say I haven't felt that happy in a long time. His gift is astonishing. So glad he wants to share it with us all :)

Saw him this past Sunday in Red bank, NJ. He took us on a walk through just about his entire career. He played for two solid hours. I could have listened for another 12! I've seen him with a couple of different PMG lineups, and a couple of solo tours with a group. This solo tour is the best show I've seen. He was relaxed, chatty (yes, he actually talked more than once), and was clearly having a ball.

I saw the Dream Box tour here in Albuquerque on 10/14/23. Best concert I’ve been to, and I’ve seen Pat 10x’s. I was wonderful to get to know the musician and the stories behind the music. I’m glad I got to see him again. Hopefully, I can see him many more time. The master!👏🏻😊🙏🏻

Pat Metheny is a genuine gift from God. I try to see him play every chance i get. He is a unicorn. Artists, teachers, players, lovers of music, and people who appreciate next level, top shelf shit will talk about him until the end of time. He said something like artists like him aren't really embraced until well after they are gone. He is indefatigable. Just look at his body of work, touring schedule (literally across the planet) and time to mentor young players, How does the do all that? Does he even sleep? I can't think of anyone even close to his league, at least in our lifetime, and we are the same age. if anyone out there is just as dedicated to their craft and as celebrated in it, please raise your hand and let us give praise to you as well. He knows he is special and he expresses that confidence in a totally non-offensive way, that's why he is sharing his talent and genius with us as long as he can, it is his duty to humanity to reach as far as possible.

Always nice to good pay money to attend a concert and have half the audience recording the show with their phones. All those lighted screens throughout the crowd really enhances the experience. And so respectful of the artist.

I am pretty sure Pat asked the venue to put a no-electronic-devices policy. It was in effect the past couple of times I have seen him play live. But people just don't listen.

@@jameskeyes9112 He always does. I went to Big Ears for the first time last March. Great festival. Wonderful music with excellent sound in top notch venues. And everything started on the dot. But I was shocked because a really large segment of the audience at EVERY concert I attended was using cellphones to record the shows. Going back next year but the invasion of the cellphone is a real drag. Common courtesy done died I’m afraid. But sheesh. Watching The Bill Frisell Four, for example, on a 2” x 2” screen for an hour when they’re 20 feet away making great music? That’s a special kind of knucklehead.

If I record at a show, I always adjust my screen brightness to the darkest setting and hold the phone right in front of my chest, so as not to distract anyone.

@@richardthurston2171 It was like the people who got out their phones to record the full eclipse a few years ago when I lived in Lincoln NE. I started to do the same, but then realized that the real thing would be so much better. I lay back on the grass and took it all in. I did not regret it. The same with a concert experience.
