What a great combination of great musicians! Sometimes, bands of super players don't work. This one did.

I was there when they played in The Hague at the North Sea JAZZ Festival. I liked it then and now I like it even better. Can’t get enough of this music. Pat, Michael, Bill, Larry, you guys are the very best. Timeless compositions. I can play this for hours.. TRUE KINGS....

Yeah I love his playing. Sounds just like an 80’s movie soundtrack when he plays. Like Lethal Weapon or something like that.

@@BigBlackBe4r I know. I listen to this track about once a month or so. It is so uplifting and inspiring. He composes on the spot like very, very few others, in my opinion. You might like to check out the other YT uploads of the same quartet that various folks have uploaded recently. One gets a sense of the creativity and immense musicality listening to different solos on the same compositions. There also are some wonderful interviews with Michael and also Pat. Michael speaks of Larry and Bill "reinventing their instruments."

@@seekay41 Master improvisers for sure! I am ashamed to say have been listening to this EVERYNIGHT for the last month.😂 I just LOVE the way Brecker listens and reacts to Metheny's solo on this. What a pair ! Thanks for the tip I will check it out for sure

This exceptional performance by the entire ensemble is a showcase for an intense burst of musical energy by Pat Metheny! His amazing guitar solo is unleashed in this super document of a super band. How lucky we are to have this, and how sad that Michael Brecker is no longer with us.

Geace Coomb...yes Pat played more aggressively with Brecker it seems. Pat's creativity here is way up there ..fiery and melodic and really playing the Guitar like a horn ...
