This clip to me isn't funny. It's not meant to be. In fact this is a deleted scene that wasn't used, and I can see why. It's an absolutely beautiful and incredibly well acted scene that's really captivating. It gives Pat so much depth - this is one of my all time favourite scenes. But perhaps in the earlier episodes it's a bit of a buzzkill against the hilarity of the show's other characters.
