I love your attitude in horse training. My friends used to laugh at me because I considered my horse my partner on the trail. Sometimes when we went riding, I would choose a destination specifically for the enjoyment of my horse, such as a newly mowed corn field, before a rain. You'd be surprised at how much fun it is for a horse to go nose-diving for overlooked ears of corn in a field when s/he's got a hackamore on. They say respect earns respect, and from my experience in life that same rule applies to our friends on four legs. I suspect my horse enjoyed our adventures together as much as I did.

I absolutely love Pat Parelli and his natural horsemanship philosophy. I have pictures with Pat in Ft. Worth about 16 years ago. Took a weekend class in Glen Rose Texas about the same time. The very best way to communicate with your horse! This is Deborah, Roberts wife. My smart phone passed away. I'm using his.

My name is Annedrea. I was 16, I went to a live lesson in Armstrong, a wild horse was trained with body language in 1 hr. You need to see it to believe it. Thank you for showing me the respect and self energy control needed to have them see me as the alpha. They are so intelligent when treated right 💜

Good overview. Long term success is in the details..........pressure and release with appropriate timing, rhythm, and feel...........and not approaching like a predator, drive line, etc. Many of your other videos and time and experience will give people great success.

Hey! I have done parelli for over a year now. Im working on level 2 freestyle with my new horse!!😍⭐️The problem is that he tosses his head. He did it from the ground for a long time (this has improved alot!) but from the saddle he will do it when he wants to go somewhere (worked on impulsion but he does it anyways) when he wants move his head (eat gras) or after lateral flexion. (I usualy hold it untill he is still but then he tosses the second i release the rein)He also tosses his head when i move in the saddle (like if the saddle did not fit), but its a very good treeless saddle and he has not any backpain.. have tried doing alot of friendly game for this. this is a big issue for us from the saddle and i don’t know How to help him. I want to move on to finesse so maybe it will be fixed when we advance in parelli?.. maybe someone has a tip?

My pony when I try to catch him turns and tries to kick he has kicked me before he also bites even if I bring food in a bucket he won’t come. Do you have any advice or things to do. He might just not have a bond with me because he has only been at our house for a week but we don’t want him getting into a habit of kicking and biting 😄any advice?

Barn/stable horses have better manners. I know, cleaning out stalls twice a day is a pain, so is cleaning hoofs, but while in training it's worth it.

Its the Zen of the carrot- stick idea, yes lots of love and carrots is the bridge. I live with my horses and if I had not the respect Through the language we share ( pat has got a great program that explains and teaches the ABC of the philosophy and strategy to have fun playing the game they love too ),... Most people forget that it has to be mentally harmonious aswell , great saying of Pat's," Horses are Attitudes on 4 legs!!! Like a teenager,... Let them walk on you without just consequence and it turns into an uphill battle before too long....😊

No. You have not done all of those things. The horse is telling you that you haven't. There is a lot to what he demonstrated in this video. Success is in the details. It goes way beyond just this one video.

“quit acting like a prey animal” well it’s not like you can erase a fvckload of years of evolution with training. A horse IS a prey animal, will always be a prey animal and act like a prey animal
