The unique thing about Pat Riley, which i used also in my coaching, is the value of the second five, who come from the bench and allow the others a rest, without changing the game style. The team will win, not one player. Still, he knew, who has a good day and who can take the lead. This is real coaching! He even saw the value of Kurt Rambis, who developed his own fan club! Everybody will work his ass off for the team and everybody ready to score.

That whole winning time show has a lot of extra drama and stuff that never happened in real life, even the creators said that it isn't super accurate and a lot of the traits of the characters are over emphasized or made up to make exciting TV. They didn't consult magic, Kareem pat Riley or any of the Lakers organization so they had to fly by the seat of their pants on the details. The Lakers organization is planning their own separate docuseries that will probably be better and more accurate.
@MrReese2 жыл бұрын
I am watching the show and I was very convinced from the start that this was not an accurate representation of what was happening at all, which is quite disappointing. I don't know why people have to make up stuff and create random drama while intentionally misrepresenting real people. The biggest issue I see with this is that many people might see this show as an accurate repesentation and think of characters in a certain way that is not even remotely close to the real person.

Winning Time is based off a book called Showtime that people should read if they want a more journalistic and realistic version of the characters. That said, it seems people often forget what the purpose of these episodes are. They're about the "beginnings" of showtime, and everything that enabled or influenced it, including Jerry Buss' needing it to be a success so he could pay off his debts that he used to buy the franchise.
@jordanalexander52752 жыл бұрын
If that show is based off of that book, it isn't a good endorsement. When simple facts like the lakers never had a 4 or 5 game losing streak, stuff that a 5 year old can Google, it takes any credibility out of the historic aspect of the show. If they can't get cold numbers right, I wonder what other "liberties" they'll take with reality. Does Magic contract HIV in 1980? Does Kareem join the republican party? Tune in next Sunday to HBO
@mikebipping61662 жыл бұрын
