It's often hard to find a battle you can show to non fans. Especially when there are a lot of battles that happen where you need to know the culture to get the references. As of late though my go to battle to introduce new viewers to the scene is Pat Stay vs. Danny Myers. It's got everything. From heavy haymakers to easy to follow bars and the humor is on point. Pat's second round often makes instant fans of battle rap for first time viewers. It's just sad and heartbreaking when I have to tell them Pat is no longer with us since they often want to see more. Fortunately he has a pretty extensive library of battles but nothing new which sucks.

Those lines by Pat about his mom were so incredibly poetic and ominous, especially the line about this bein' his and his mom's last stage together. That was so sadly prescient, especially cuz the event is called "Til Death Do Us Part." It's still unbelievable that Pat is gone. At least he left us wit' this last banger!
