I'm new to CRAVE, absorbing the combinations being used and how they work together. Appreciating the variety of potential sounds that can be created with just a few connections. It seems something like neurons being chained together.

I haven't done acid in almost 20 years, and I've never had a "flashback" I had to go back to 6:15 to make sure I actually saw and heard that and wasn't having one.

Your demonstrations are very educational and endlessly enjoyable. However, I have yet to find one where you go absolutely bonkers on a particular synth. Maybe I just haven't come across it yet...

hey man thank you soooo much for your amazing series, your videos have helped more than anyother on youtube! i was wondering how to connect the crave to a reverb pedal or something since the crave only has a 3.5mm out. Thank you :)
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
You just need an adaptor. I use a 3.5mm patch lead with a headphone adaptor. Sometimes, however, it’s a pain if the the L+R channel get mixed up somehow so you have to have the adaptor half plugged in. I’ve actually just ordered some 3.5 - 6.5mm jack cables to simplify things.

@@StarskyCarr so i just ordered the crave and a dr600. What cables do i need to buy to hear the reverb in my headphones?
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
Max Janssen the output of the reverb will be line level, so you’ll need to amplify the signal. This is normally done using a mixer, amplifier, audio interface etc. And using the headphone socket in those. But if you have none of them and just want to plug headphones direct you’ll need a headphone amp. I think the Behringer MA400 May work... but I can’t be 100% certain. To use that you’d need a standard 6.5mm (1/2 inch) jack lead. The reverb won’t be stereo though, unless you buy a split stereo cable as it looks like the D600 uses 2 outputs for L + R but Again I’m not sureThere are so many options tbh depending on what you already have that I can’t cover all here. Basically anything with an audio input and headphone socket will generally work.

Thanks! What’s your oscilloscope? Can you make a tutorial on how to set it up ? Sorry noob here
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
Its from the free plugins from Meldaproduction I simply put it in the instrument channel in Logic as an effect. Each DAW will be different. To watch it ‘live’ in Logic the channel has to be in record mode and the ‘i’ button next to the record enable button has to be lit.

Hi & thanks for this video. In your other video (overview) you pressed a combination of shift + some other keys (hold plus 8 I think) before patching. I wasn't sure why you did that. Is this necessary to get into a special 'mode' before you can patch? (sorry, I have never 'patched' before. :D )
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
That’s to enter input/output mode so you can set what signal is sent from the ASSIGN CV out. I use this to emulate LFOs. I’ve a video showing exactly this. I think it’s #3 in my tutorials.

Is it possible to route the Saw/Square so one is a sub for the other, or slightly detuned? Can you route the Saw/Tri blend from the Oscillator in such a way that the envelope triggers it? It's a cool sound. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the chip in the crave also puts out a triangle, I wonder if there's a simple mod to take advantage of that to get a detuned tri sound?

I got the crave and the novation bass station 2 and the crave got much more depth and punch in sound than the bs2, i was really shocked while trying the first groove with the crave and bs2 together. I first wanted to use the bs 2 for bass and the crave for leads and arps but now i use the bs2 for leads and the crave for low end
