awesomeee. I was having trouble getting in in time with the preset tempo settings. You have to go under the hood to change the tempo knob values. For accesing those settings press the On switch + Func button. Check the manual

FUNC --> Active Step --> remove steps, which changes the length.

@@TheKorgDude so basically its fixed to this length - i.e.the korg keys has a functionality to change it from 1/1 to 1/4 allowing a longer phrase - is this possible on the bass?

@@mchonnyable bass doesn't have the clock division on the keys, so for this, I was dividing tempo. Since the pattern is essentially an 8-beat one, I halved the tempo to get two measures out of one pattern.
