Swapping in a GM style 1 wire alternator. This requires a mount and I made the simplest one I could. If I’m the future I can lawyer put it back to original. Alternator SW purchased from Napa

Gee. I think I’d eliminate the amp gauge and go with a volt meter. I’ve read some articles that say use an amp gauge with a generator and volt gauge with an alternator. I’m no expert-just adding something unimportant. 🤣

I’ll do some research, thanks. Update- from what i was able to find. An amp gauge can be used ….IF it is rated to the max capacity of the alternator output. My data sheet says the new alternator put out 82amps max. The gauge I’m using is rated much lower at 25. So you are correct, I should replace with either a correctly sized amp gauge or a volt meter. Thanks for the input, may have saved the Jeep from a fire!

Thanks for the video, is that alternator made for this Jeep or just a universal?
