The last game of the tournament was absolutely nuts. Randall meaningfully intervened multiple times. There were several stock-saving offstage meteor cancels and techs. There was an f-smash read. Shy Guys both caused Junebug to miss an up air at 21:00 and helped Junebug to safely stall out his recovery at 22:22. Also, Junebug's neutral in game one of set two was *chef's kiss*.

Man what a testament to how good June is at this game, and really to the viability of dk. These games were right, and salt’s punish game is one of the best in melee especially against dk. I don’t know how you can really argue dk can’t win a major, though idk if it will happen anytime soon. When June won xanadu you could argue it was a fluke or an undeveloped meta, but when he continues getting results *this* good while top players have undeniably learned how to play against dk and respect the matchup, how can you even argue

Huge congrats to junebug for getting the bracket reset and winning, but I'm going to have to disagree with falcon being one of DK's worst matchups. neither character has projectiles, so DK doesn't get camped, DK can 0-death and edgeguard falcon easily, falcon doesn't have any frame 1 punish moves like fox or falco do so DK can slip in an up b to get out of pressure, DK is heavy so the timing to combo him from grab is tight for falcon, and DK can scrap with him really well. Given it's still a bad matchup since falcon still has a wicked punish game against him (as he does against the rest of the cast) but I think sheik, fox, samus, puff, and falco all are significantly worst matchups for him because he either can't deal with the projectiles, or can't combo them as easily.

Don’t listen to most commentators for actual Melee knowledge lol, they rarely know what theyre talking about I figured out. Unless they specifically play the MU themselves, HMW comes to mind where he actually knows good MU knowledge with Falco/Fox but yea when neither of the commentators play the characters on the screen they wont know much about it.

This looks like SDI down. I don’t know the specifics of it but when you hold down at low percents during an action you can greatly reduce your hitstun. I think it works by having a move hit you into the air but you ASDI down to land immediately after leaving hit lag so you enter the landing animation instead of hitstun. I might be spewing fake knowledge but that’s how I understand it
