Did they polish out any scratches? I have a few minor nicks on the bezel which I’d like polished out whenever I decide to send it for a service.

I didn’t want them to polish the watch as there is a risk of over polishing. If they are minor you can do it yourself with a Cape Cod cloth for the high polished parts and a scotch pad for the brushed, there are a lot of tutorials on KZbin. It’s pretty simple if you take your time and tape off parts you don’t want to touch.

Wonderful watch and it's great you are happy with the result. Normally, patina on a dial is actually a desired thing on a PP so I don't know what you meant with severe ocd. I guess it did not look attractive? Since you love this kind of watch I was wondering if you ever considered a Piaget Altiplano for your collection? Best regards.

This is so close to perfect but for the undersized movement which precludes the display back. They fixed these issues with the new 6119, but the unfortunately the other small changes they made to the face take away from the watch in my opinion. You can’t have it all I suppose - no matter how much you spend.

Yeah,I know there was a lot of controversy about the movement size but it honestly doesn’t bother me. I’ve looked at my movement personally and the picture in the review is of my watch. The VC and JLC competitors also used similarly size movements with blank casebacks. It’s very common to use case rings to fit smaller movements at any price range. I would have preferred a see through case back although the gold case back would have cost more to produce, .

PP Calatrava is a dream for me. But patina on such a very recent watch? And then there is no AR, and no stop-seconds. Why are warch nerds so forgiving towards PP (and Rolex, also no AR until recently, male endlinks instead of female ones, no one-the-fly adjustable clasp etc)?

You’re so right, there are so many double standards. PP always gets a pass because of “tradition”. Honestly I’m still a big fan of this watch and not disappointed with it but it isn’t perfect.

@ yes your MOP dial is super lovely! my DD was a hand me down with champagne dial, diamond bezel and diamond indices which I thought was super tacky years ago but now I absolutely love it haha. Yes reverse is nice. I’m also looking at cartier and gondolos. But the modern versions all wear really big so I might need to go vintage…
