Norms are made at national level. Patent act of 1911. British. 20 years. Making, selling, using, offering sale, import. Only for jurisdiction. Need for IPR???? Purpose for patents. Incentive to create intellectual ideas, invest money, and time. 1970 was when India wanted to start a unique system. 1995 India joined WTO and subsequently adjusted it's IPR. 16:45 Patents around food, drug, and medicine lengthened (14) to 20 years.
