No one can comprehend the pain that we feel when we find out that a "parent" we thought was ours, is NOT after being an adult. I was 48 when me and my "daddy" found out and folks was insensitive saying, well there is nothing you can do about it. My daddy and I both cried over this deception. Good thing he told me that I will always be his little girl. As a daddy's girl and tom boy too, I purposely did things to be closer to this man. Such a WONDERFUL man. My mother was so insensitive, not comprehending why I was distraught. My entire life, this was the only man who had NEVER hurt me after loads of failed relationships and two failed marriages. @badussy's burnt meatflaps I don't care that your comment is nine months old. It's so wrong that I have to correct you. There definitely are laws based on feelings and these laws destroy men on a daily basis. There are some states where the woman can put any man's name on a birth certificate and he is stuck for life even if he never slept with the woman. Not to mention in my opinion and probably a lot of other men's, that paternity fraud I'd the lowest form of filth possible. This is why paternity tests should be done as a point of fact. Out of all the hundreds of thousands or millions of test done every year statistics show that roughly 30 percent of men are not the father and that statistic is just plain and simple too much.

The truth is mothers always have favorite child, some don't acknowledge that but some do. My mum is one of those that never hesitated to tell the world my older brother is her life, she loved and pampered him endlessly, for me and my baby brother it is what it is, as she has being saying and acting it all our lives and we know she loves us so much as well, so it never affected us negatively, even the pampered 'boy', didn't allow it to get to his head. As I got older I understood why, as her journey to having my brother was a long and painful journey especially being an only child herself So my brother was her miracle.
@Kelli_D.5 жыл бұрын
I didn't take it that she meant it that way, I took it she was having a hard home life, and the only way to get away from it was to be married, but the law wouldn't allow it unless A) Parents signed the papers allowing her to be married under the age of 18, or B) she was pregnant ... well it was obvious parents were not signing no papers allowing her to be married, so she went and got pregnant so she could run off get married, and leave what was most likely an abusive home life.

I feel so bad for the father and the daughter. The mother was just horrid! I can’t imagine my mom telling me so angrily that I was conceived that way. It hurt just hearing it for the daughter and I don’t believe that her ex-husband agreed with her sleeping with whoever just to get pregnant so they could get married. I hope the father and daughter continue to have a close relationship. Such a sad story.

Lotus Blossom, that's my perception too. She was straight forward and answered every question on point when asked by the judge! I also think her husband knew also. They did what they had to do to be together.

Crazy....in Tennessee you must have a parent's signature.

Golden Girl was it that way back 1990? I know ga has that same law as you stated Tennessee has currently but did they have it in 1990?
@an-nisa-the-women5 жыл бұрын
In Singapore 21 and above don't need parents signature. Minimum marriage age is 18 yrs and need parents signature. Under the Islamic marriage court.. The girl father or a male member of her immediate family (brother, uncle, grandfather) needs to be present and sign to get the girl married no matter how old she is. If she don't have any, evident needs to be provided then the judge sign will get her married.

@arianefr785 жыл бұрын
The Judge simply brushed over the fact that he didn't 'claim' her as his daughter, he thought she 'was' his daughter and he must be devastated, he was tricked and lied to his whole life, as was 'his' daughter. And as for the other child they had after her, one has to wonder if he is really the father of that child...
