On the flip side, if he thought he wasn't the father, why didn't he contest it, instead of paying child support? And why did he get married again when he wasn't divorced from the plaintiff? They are both the a-holes that cause this young man so much pain.
@crazycatlady4551 Жыл бұрын
@@davestuart1382 I agree with you that there can be extenuating circumstances for some men to sign birth certificates when they know they aren't the father. They don't apply in this case, tho. The defendant's name is on the BC because they were married at the time of the birth so, he is deemed the legal father. If he disputed being the father, he should have taken care of it before he dipped out & 'married' another woman without first getting a divorce. Both the plaintiff and the defendant failed this young man. The defendant also failed his 2nd 'wife.'

Women (at least in Ohio) you need to check to make sure that your 'husband' was actually single or divorced when you got married. My friend's grandmother was 'married' to a man for over 35 years. When he died all of his benefits went to some woman that he married when he was 19 and never filed for divorce There was nothing the grandmother could do because per law if no will or anything was made everything goes to the living spouse and if you don't file for divorce then all other marriages are null and void. It could take some digging but the information is public info.
