I played rf as a blood magic juggernaut and worked very well, only note that you need an essence worm ring to cast purity of fire, if you manage to get your hands on a 21 gem the ring will boost it to 23 and give an additional 1% max res. The charge generation is more reliable on sketchy situations and boss fights but less on general map clearing. The regen and damage is pretty much the same but you lose the fire leech so it works better with ele equilibrium and fortify and less well in combination with other spells and iron will. The build is slightly tankier and unstoppable is amazing, not affected by temp chains, freeze and other slow mechanics, much less effected by chilled grounds, tar and stuff like that.

love that guide as i love RF =) perfectly done. but for leveling. just grab facebreakers + warchief totems. you can specc into that build and they carry you easily to 65 especially if you got some of those essences these days with +phys for amu and rings. meginord + skirmish quiver are so cheap and are the fastest and smoothest leveling experience ^-^

Hey Lifting, you can run Righteous Fire right at level 16 when you get it. Yeah, your life will degen as you level up picking up life regen nodes, however at level 20 you can pick up 2 of the unique topaz rings which give up to 16 life regen which leveling is close to 2-4% life regen. Also with leveling a spring leaf kite shield works great with a shapers seed amulet. Overall I feel this setup really speeds up leveling.

My new favorite build, just finished my 1st ever t16 Chimera. Had to kite the add phase with aoe/RF. One tip I will mention though, when you get +life jewels later on try to get a rare +7% with %fire/area damage. That seemed to bump my dps rather nicely.

Edit: Ignore this post, the build works great, possibly my new favorite. Thanks for the guide All of your leveling gems are blue and we have no intelligence lol. 1 to 65 is a long way to go before the build starts to work but still trying it out. The build looks tanky while still doing moderate dps and that's exactly what I'm lookin for. EDIT: Well hit 65 and the lack of intelligence was a non factor and firestorm was hitting quite hard by the end. Switching over to RF now but prolly lacking in regen to keep it up.

If you're willing to roll flasks while leveling, use multiple ruby flasks and have Springleaf shield, you can level most of the game as RF, far before you would normally want to equip the skill. Of course, in HC, that might be a bad idea....

You can start at lvl 20 with rf since you don't need mana you can take 4 life flasks and sustain the damage. if your to concerned about that you can go at lvl 30 with oak shield and you won't degen below 35% health. And because you don't use any mana and casts you can cast your curses yourself (suggest running 2) and then keep 3 aura's next to that.

I thought of doing this while using Flame Surge for single target along side Righteous Fire. Have you played with that at all?? The 50% boost on flame surge from burning enemies seems pretty good and they always burn within RF. Seems like a win-win for this build.

with rf, vulnerability increases the self burn so you're regeneration is less effective, speaking of which, reduced or no regeneration maps are pretty much right out, temporal chains is annoying to run no matter what, elemental weakness requires very well rolled gear, but is manageable, which leaves players have EE and enfeeble, neither of which are enormous problems if you're only damage is the rf degeneration, but for rf casters EE is painful ah I almost forgot minus max player resistances, which if you understand a rf build, I wouldn't run it

AutoTauri You can run vulnerability, even half regen maps just fine with Chieftain, even without Vitality, it's another story with Hierophant or any other RF variants. EW maps are also fine since this build doesn't use 2 unique rings like some other RF does. Hexproof is annoying, but in no way hinders the clear, hexproof reds might be an issue, but should still be doable. Minus max is the only issue from all you've listed. That'd left you with mods that would give the same issue to most other builds as well. So as I said, I don't see the problem with getting high pack size maps with RF, not with Chieftain.

To be fair, if you need your orb of storms to hit all enemies you're doing something wrong. Should only be needed for rare/unique enemies and to trigger elemental overload. Any spell that does not deal any fire damage will work to trigger EE. As for the 5L, you're best bet would be to 4L + 2L on a 6 socket belly.

Usually when you dont have Kaoms and you go for a 5 linked chest, you used to use cyclone with curse on hit, flammability, life gain on hit and blood magic/second curse if you have enough mana regen to sustain it

Cool guide, been lvling up pretty quickly. (my standard is 82 using RF) btw anyone trouble getting to 65: I'm leveling my RF Marauder, currently 56 in Hardcore. Using Searing Bond, Elemental Focus, Rapid Decay, Increased Burning Damage. Get a good Elemental Weapon with +elemental damage or +fire damage and you just facemelt mobs until 65 for RF with Phoenix Shield.

Facebreakers + meginords + either infernal blow or cyclone + a warchief totem for single target will carry you ttill you can get the shield + all regen nodes, also any other jewelry with flat physical will work too, oh dont forget the skirmish quiver that gives one additional totem just to make life so much more easy

Save Me! Hey Lifting, so I have always wanted to do an RF build. I'm pretty casual. Before last league I played up to atziri release and then took a break until Breach. Anyways I was following a guide I found on poe forums but it was a Templar. I just hit 65 last night. I realize that I didn't buy a lv 17 purity of fire so that is probably my issue why I'm not fully sustaining RF but it was dam sure close to that. So I'm wondering though am I still going to be successful as a Templar. Is inquisitor or guardian better ? Both have a couple regen points. Which do you think would be better or do I need to re roll? Lv 50-65 was fuckin brutal hahaha also the guide I was following was using a xophs blood. With the new league now that amulet is way more expensive than in breach. Do I go avatar of fire now or avoid that as a whole ? Thanks for your time man. Love the videos. !

No, no, no lmao. I tried using RF and leveling with firestorm just becomes obsolete after level 31. Grab yourself sunder and then earthquake. Get yourself a blood reaper and then a Marohi Erqi and leveling becomes a breeze. Even though i was only grabbing life nodes i'd be 1 shotting most of the content alongside with a warchief. The ideal chest one can get is Koams but if you want to be super dank grab yourself a Cospri's and get that flammability and a enfeeble or warlords mark CoH with cyclone and you're set for that EE. Just make sure you have added lightning/cold damage somewhere in your gear. Cyclone ALSO applies poison SUPER fast thanks to cospri's and it'll pop that EE with the small extra cold/light dmg, so don't bother with orb of storms.

I'm saying it's obsolete because around the 50s is when it starts dying off and EQ just never dies off, so why bother leveling with firestorm to the 50s to only replace it or just spend a much longer time period leveling. I never said firestorm was wrong, it's just not as great as EQ. Reread my post mate.

FueledByFury Not really, FS doesn't die off, not until late 60s, not if you 6L it. I've leveled an RF Hierophant before with EQ, and had a pretty good twink gear for him, the pace was relatively the same, infact I didn't have issues with bosses and stuns as I did with EQ when I used FS. Even with Warchief. As I said, you're doing it, wrong. Using Cospri's on an RF build is stupid. The chest has no life, so you'd be missing 1-2k health depending on how many life nodes you've taken. The poison on hit does nothing either, since you won't have physical or chaos damage to scale it off, you do realize that poison damage is a combined 8% of your physical and chaos dmg right? Shield Charge or Leap Slam used in the build already procs EE. EE is not the only reason why he uses Orb of Storms. OoS has a chance to shock, it hits constantly during it's duration, every hit has their own crit dice roll so it's good to proc EO on top of EE, and you can proliferate the shocks with doryani. Cyclone only hits once per spin, so it's not great for on hit effects, BV is better for that purpose. It's funny how people still think that typing "lol" and "lmao" would improve their arguments.

the part about life needing to be higher if you're degening is wrong. Both the damage you take from righteous fire and the life regeneration you have is a percentage based on your max life, so all that matters is max res and life regen %. The only case where getting more life alone will help not degen you is if you have flat energy shield.

If you have 20% life regen, and 5k life, you regen 20% of 5k, if you have 20% life regen and 9k life, you regen 20% of 9k. Lifting can you help me out please? How the hell you survived and killed the adds in Chimera Map? you have much less life than I do int he video.. I sit around 9k and I get oneshotted by the first add wave in Chimera Map.. im really despaired -.- wasted so many chimera Maps trying to figure out but no way.. (Sorrry for my english) if you use Essence of Delirium on Gloves they give you "Socketed Gems deal 30% more Damage over Time" so you can put your RF in your 4L gloves but with that buff is like 5L, if you do that you can using kaoms for more life and 5L RF on gloves (one more time, sorry for my english) :)

Simple really, cyclone slows you down, and for clears you just need the EE procs from shield charge if you managed to get added cold/light dmg. BV imo is a personal choice, but I find it annoying to use for mere EO procs, since OOS can do it better.

I'm actually running a BV + RF build. BV is my 5L, and I have added lightning damage to spells on a +3 fire gems dagger. +2fire +1gems lets me bump level 19 purity of fire to 23, which is nice. The little bit of lightning damage lets me proc EE for my RF degen, while the BV does good damage in its own right, since it benefits from the RF more multiplier. Long term goal is to get a cospris, allowing me to run vulnerability in a second blasphemy setup and poison with BV.

RF HAS to be tanky by its very nature. Almost every node you spec on an RF build is defensive in some fashion. 10K life is a bare minimum for RF builds at end game. There should be no worries about that. Further, stacking strength works well with chieftain and grants more life. As you get GG gear with STR/Life and your resists, your damage and tankiness go up hand in hand.

summerner10 uber izaro is the same thing like regular izaro but way tougher for some builds. you need to get all uber trials done from maps. once u get them all u have access to uber izaro by placing the goddess item u get from trials into your map device

Is what Lifting said about not having enough life to regen enough true? Cuz it's not making sense to me. RF makes you burn for a % of your total life, so while you're getting more regen by getting more life, you're also burning for more. It should even out, no?

I actually have a level 75 Chieftain running RF, only have about 5500ish HP but like 799 HP regen. The more HP you have the faster it burns. You do get more damage with more HP, but yes, like he said with more its same cause it goes down just as fast. Someone with 10000 HP would drop HP just as fast as someone with 1000, if they have the same % of regen. You get more HP regen cause more life, but the burn amount increases cause you have more % life. xD anyways, makes sense in my head.

assuming you're still leveling with fire storm it'd be good to get any % increased elemental damage, spell damage or fire damage. getting a combination of those is a better option and easily done with rare self found scepters. cast speed also helps. once you can switch to righteous fire the %increased spell damage is useless. Last time I looked at his character he was using a doryani's catalyst vaal scepter

Have you not heard about berserker? :D I see so many go chieftain as their RF class.Extremely ignorant. I can only face palm as I can not understand why anyone would EVER look at the chieftain ascendancy class and think, hey this must be great for rf. I can guarantee you that you will never ever kill shaper with a chieftain rf build. Chieftain does not provide anything you need. With berserker you get 40% more dmg(must have in a strong rf build) or you will lack the dps to kill any hard content. You spam enduring cry and gain 25% hp with 100% reduced cd. You take 6% reduced dmg + stun immunity.The regen you need is easily taken in the skill tree without wasting points in combination with an marble amulet. With chieftain you only pick up some not needed life regen and thats it. Game over. You make good guides and I hope you dont take this personally. This is meant as a wake up call for all the chieftain players out there :p

I wont do that. But you go berserker and skill warcry buff(warbringer) and reduced dmg taken(rite of ruin) and aspect of carnage for 40% more damage. You take every hp node and +max fire res node and all the big life regen nodes. With a kaoms and hp on all your gear you will get around 11k hp at level 92. You use essence of delirium on your gloves to get 30% MORE damage over time. You run around the map spamming your enduring cry and orb of storm with increased crit chance to proc ele overload. I also went bloodmagic for more hp and I used my orb of storm setup to also proc curse on hit + flammabilty. That build kills shaper but Its not fast and the map can easily be filled with vortex in phase 2 and 3 if you are not carefull. 1 additional curse is optional but probably too good to pass instead of more more hp res on a ring. If you run 2 curses you go witchfire brew or you could add vuln in your orb of storm setup instead of inc. crit. I feel you need that against shaper tbh. For jewels you go area dmg, life and dmg over time / resistances. Area dmg is your nr1 dmg multiplier as your dmg over time is scaled from it.

it is also worth mentioning that when I played this character I used The Formless Inferno for more armour since I had tons of fire res and because of the: 8% of Physical Damage taken as Fire Damage because we have 88% fire res. My character could face tank fully buffed uber iazro and no matter what he did the hp bar barely flinched. Keep in mind that a fully buffed uber izaro one shots 9k-10k es characters because they rarely have much armour. I feel that is worth mentioning in general as so many players theese days bitch about es being so much better than hp(true, but its not black and white) If you play a character such as rf where you dont really skill any dmg nodes you will be tankier than a 20k es character. Its a different story with chaos dmg and ele dmg tho ;)
