I think the 50 hour campaign will put off so many mum and dad players who only get to play 1-2 hours a day and also new players coming from other ARPG's who just want to experience the end game like myself. . I love alts and this is a turn off in a very big way.

50 hours for a first playthrough coz u dont know where to go and what the boss' mechanics are. Mark (the dev) is said to have finished the current poe2 campaign in 7-8 hrs.

Man I love POE1 content creators (unironically). "Right now I can complete the POE1 campaign in about 7 hours" ... "So that's about half a day of playing"

When it comes to cast times on skills its not always about if its worth it because some skills are faster then others, its also about giving people different play styles. Like the warrior in poe 2 is thematically slower then the marauder. Skills with longer cast times is probably also something you will use given a certain situation. You will have a couple of skills you use a lot, while some skills are pressed less frequently to take advantage of a stun etc. Since we can have 9 six linked skills there will be a lot of variety on playstyle options etc

Definitely partially right but the reality is no one's going to play a skill that is underperforming and clunky and has a slow cast animation that's just not something people do . We see this a ton in path of exile where skills are just bad long wind ups and doesn't do anything and it doesn't do a lot of damage and it doesn't get playtime. Options are important but if the options suck as people won't use it that's just factual

50 hour sounds long but we need more information, its hard to tell in these kinda games, i can make poe1 campaign also 50 hours long, they probably mean something like clearing maps 100% all the time + doing all side activities

@@FervorGaming Either way, I trust GGG to deal with it. I'm psyched to be along for the ride as they balance gear, abilities, combat mechanics etc... But I can't assume it's going to be perfect at launch and I'm ok with that.

complaining about a real campaign is WILD, but i do agree that once you finish it with one char you should get the option to create a new char with a "skip campaign" option
