Great build. Whenever you get your 5th skill passive slots, there's a gem that allows you to move basically at full speed while casting, it's a III gem, will make this build super zippy. Also, there are several ways to get your max hp down to like 250 HP that allows you to get 250-400 stacks in unlocked demon form. It's quite insanely busted.

Thanks for the great suggestion on the support gem, will definitely test out once I get there! :) Yeah the end-goal is to go for uncapped demonflame. Unfortunately on SSF this is quite difficult to achieve properly :( I may eventually move to standard league once I achieve my goals in SSF.

@@FunkehChicken Also, if you can some how muster Blasphemy into your build, sticking Conductivity into it, while socketing MP regen, and Vitality gem (1% life per second) will help build the unlimited stacks build (requires spirit though, so it's rough) You may be able to get rid of archmage to compensate the spirit requirements. as in unlimited form, your spell damage basically goes to the moon. Just suggestions for when you attempt to tackle the giga HP regen requirement

@@JxzzCat I was actually running uncapped stacks before switching to this build, as I said simply due to the simpler gear requirements in SSF. And yes you are spot on with your suggestions. That was exactly what I was running, i.e. blasphemy with Vitality. My record was around 140 stacks, with very poor gear. Like I said it is very heavily gear dependant and it is a much more interactive playstyle as you need to be keeping and eye on all your globes/resources and managing both flasks. This variant with Archmage I find just so much simpler and easier for basic map blasting where I can relax a lot more ;) Also damage wise if you average it out the Archmage itself equates to roughly be the equivalent of an uncapped 80 or so stack build (not running Archmage). All that said I will eventually be switching back to the uncapped variant once gear allows it, with Archmage.

I am almost level 88 on SSF farming T15's with average gear using this build. Still get "one shot" on occasions, but thats just the nature of top end mapping at this stage until the new patch hits hopefully in the next day or two. The only major challenge you will face is sustaining mana for archmage. Should be less of a problem for standard/trade league, but I did a spark upgrade a few hours ago and had to turn archmage off as a result because it just pushed me beyond my mana sustain capabilities on SSF with my limited gear.

Demon Form gets more sockets automatically as you level. BIG WARNING THOUGH (should of mentioned this in the video): The vast majority of support gems do NOT work when applied directly to demon form. E.g. vitality, clarity etc do not work in demon form. This appears to be a bug, as they are offered as recommended options in the UI. Note however, that unless you have access to +spirit on gear, if you are running Archmage you wont have enough spirit for any further supports on Demon form.

NOTE: if you do want to run Vitality, Clarity, etc in demon form you need to attach them to another persistent aura/buff. E.g. mana remnants, blasphemy, etc

Would you advise leveling with that passive tree or wait till the unique/hp regen/10 stack flame?

The passive tree is very much geared toward having the unique chest, and for sustaining archmage's mana needs. The leveling variants/stages to get to this point honestly warrant a separate video to go over as there is a few stages. However, to just provide a small memory dump of some of the things I did/tried along the way: 1. Early game path left-down into the str+int section of the passive tree, there is a bunch of life-regen nodes there (search "life regen" in the tree to see the area). Demon Forms buffs are massive early game so all you need is the passive nodes for the regen to sustain it for as long as you can. 2. Early Midgame: Either go for Mind Over Matter or the '% Dmg taken from mana'', whichever you prefer. The idea is to protect your hp as much as possible while your hp fluctuates between degen and flasking. Life recoup can be handy as well if you have easy access to it. 3. Later Midgame you want to get the 10 max cap ascendancy as soon as you can to protect your hp pool, otherwise you are going to be very heavily reliant on your flask spamming to keep demonform up as long as possible (tip: get a 0.2+ charges per second life flask ASAP). Mind you, the simpler option is simply to play minions until you get to endgame.... however, I very much enjoyed the challenge and iterations of making demon form work along the journey.

I only have about 12% crit chance with spark currently, with no bonus crit dmg. That equates to basically a 12% dps boost. Compared to that support gem which is 30%. So its a net gain.

Chaos damage in PoE2 deals 2x damage to energy shield, but it does not bypass it

Ahhhh this is overview is great! I'm using demon form with uncapped stacks, however using Contatgion + Hexblast there is just not enough more multipliers from supports and the tree for chaos/chaos DoT to feel good. After seeing this I think I'm going to switch to spark/lightning based build, thanks a ton! Would it be possible to get the list of skills + supports you are using written out somewhere? Scrubbing through the video you go through a good portion of them, but a few of the spells you don't really talk about the supports you use much (conductivity, ice nova, etc)

Initially trying to solve your resistances if need be. Max mana. Beyond that anything that helps with spells, e.g. int, cast speed, mana regen, etc.

Very interesting, the interaction between that chest, Demon Form degen, life regen and EB are all cool. Thanks for the vid. Obviously the question for anyone not in SSF would be "why bother with demon form I have better weapons" unless you REALLY want a better dodge roll, however that 50% HP cut from the chest makes me wonder how far you can push uncapped stacks. Lastly one note, chaos damage isn't supposed to always bypass ES in POE2, but just deal 2x dmg to it, but some stuff does still clearly does go past, not sure what the diff is (maybe poisons?).

Yeah exactly same point someone else made, and I agree. However, the whole attraction of the build is the fact that all you need to get to T15 maps is basically a unique chest and 2 pieces with life regen (and then enough resistances) and you can fly through the content very simply and for the most part safely. But as you say, and as I replied in the other comment, the build does also offer a pathway to the uncapped demonflame version which can push 200+ stacks, potentially even more if you really dive into the passive nodes as well, if you have access to top end gear. Regarding chaos damage - yeah spot on. Been my observation as well. Would be nice not to incur the 50% mana regen loss from Mind Over Matter, but there is enough damage to seems to pass through the ES that sitting with just a 800 hp backup is very uncomfortable.... especially with the XP loss you get in endgame. Also even with as much ES as the build has, this game loves big surprise burst damage. and that extra 2000 buffer from mana has saved my life on many an occasion.

@@FunkehChicken Alright I've tried to go for uncapped stacks in trade league, im not rich but I've got to 100 life regen with only 663 HP. Can go to about 85 stacks before the lifedrain starts seriously taxing my life flask charges. I have a much different tree (I'm over by Monk start) and I picked up +30 life on kill, we'll see how much that helps for sustaining high stacks. Regardless, even if I only have an average of 50 stacks that's still a massive damage increase. EDIT: enjoying it so far, the roll is also incredible you're right lol

@@aimlessgun The playstyle is very engaging a can be a lot of fun trying to push the stacks. Ultimately at this stage in SSF I had to switch to this build as its just so much more relaxing and also... less deaths ;) (the XP loss in endgame starts to hurt at higher levels). That said I do eventually want to switch back over and make the uncapped work. And will likely need to do so either way to be able to kill endgame bosses. May have a look at the trade site and get an idea of how much the gear costs and potentially move my character over to standard just to make it easier.

​@@aimlessgun I just hit level 40 and I can sustain 113 stacks before my hp starts to move at all, the most important thing is those hp regen jewels! I got 5 of them, 14% regen rate each. Theres a perk that you can take that increases your ES by like 30 or 40% and reduces your max life by 10% so I'm sitting at 1250 ES and 260hp, my life regen/s is 149/s. 16 helm, 18 ring, 24 amulet, 17 ring, and 18 on belt, I still don't have regen boots yet and my amulet could be like 10 points higher but it gives me 22% faster casting so its a trade off haha I'm still only level 40 so I have a ton of tree to unlock but I could see 250+ stacks if you pick up life regen rate in the tree, there's a surprising amount of it to get in bottom left! I've been socketing mana recharge into my armor and it REALLY helps spamming abilities, even with my super fast casting I vary rarely need to tap my mana pot more than once if at all.

why bother with demon form at all when you can get more stats out of mh/oh gear. You can get more cast speed, skill levels and spell damage from those 2 slots if you have the currency. You are spending 4 ascendancy passive skills for a better dodge roll(with the 10 stack limit)

Basically for the reasons you stated: - The dodge itself honestly made the large maps bearable for me. I would find it hard to play a new character without it. It is also amazing for dodging boss mechanics. - its quick and easy to setup due to the fact you don't need to worry about finding weapons. E.g. on SSF as I play I am still yet to come across anything with more than +2 skills and I am at level 80. - Demon form stats scale with level. Currently mine is up to +6 to skills, it could even go higher. I don't think weapons go beyond +6/7 if memory serves. - Imagine +6 weapons would be expensive. But you are right, for a min/max build to push the very top of endgame you may be better off not using Demon Form.... but this is just a showcase of how you can use it :)

Furthermore, with respect to pushing late endgame, this build with top end gear could go for the uncapped demon flame version where you can stack life regen to 50%++ of your hp pool. Corrupted version of the chest pushes the hp conversion further and also get life regen rolls on all gear. Can easily get 200+ stacks. Played around with this and got to 150 stacks personally but finding the gear was far too hard on SSF and had to invest passive points to help out a bit. Overall it was too much effort (for now)... and this variant was just super simple and easy to setup and play in comparison.

The real point is using it without cap. Basically you don’t need damage nodes with this. So, you should just max out your defense and that is it. You can use any magic with this. Fire, chaos, cold, lightning. It doesn’t because you have absurd amount of damage.

Ahhh forgot to mention this point in the video: The big reason this build is also easy and CHEAP to setup is that demon form serves as a shapeshifting ability. What this means is it disables your weapons (doesnt use the stats from them at all). So basically you don't use/need your weapons at all.

@@ajrowe5845 afaik and have tested - nothing from your weapons applies when in demon form. Can't use any of the weapon abilities, not passive +spirit gains from sceptres, no stats, basically game treats it as if you had nothing equipped in those slots. In terms of ES bonus from focus, havent tested that specifically but it should be easy enough to do yourself if you want to be 100%.
