By fearing making a mistake, I will watch a video to get the meta build. With that, I would be blocked from making my own mistakes, and it feels like I have to follow the best build instead of creating my own. I am a player who don't have a lot of time to play, so I don’t want to create a new character or redo the main story again and again if my build gets bricked. Also, if respec becomes expensive, the only choices I will have are to stick with the meta build or restart again. sorry for my long rant and I like the your point you had in your vid but lets hope for some change man because I can't keep restarting over and over.

I totally agree I played POE 1 and only played meta builds for that reason, all games will form some kind of meta eventually I just hope that the stuff that’s not meta can perform just as well or close to it.

no. if your picking up gear early game you get enough. by end of act 2 your making enough to do a bit of respecing. later in the game money gold doesnt matter, just pocket change

I don’t have much of a problem with it myself but I see a lot of complaints on reddit or others KZbin comments

i think in order for decision to have meaning they need to have a cost you are sacrificing something over the other thing. otherwise you sacrifice nothing choosing to be this character build or the other. theres plenty of systems in the game that do not have cost in gold to change at will. you need a use for gold and a money sink to make the economy not inflate massively. now you dont want the ability to respect be behind a paywall or non existant or at the cost so great people would rather start a new character... because that leads to a decission paralysis when spending your talent/skill points whatever you call it in your game. i got 5 characters, near 3 million gold and im sure a random lvl 100 character gets a 1000 gold per mob gold drop and 5k per elite... its not a huge cost to respec

To distill this lets have this situation The game: " you must choose now, blue or red?" The player: "i choose red." ..."and i choose blue" Thats not a choice. thats a lack of a choice. Now i dont think players must be forever bound to their decission, and i dont think the decission should be only changeable by starting over. The cost of gold is a compromise, where the choices still matter, but you can sacrifice some gold to fix a mistake. Moving forward to the question of how much gold should this cost, i dont think a respec should be cheap, gold in a videogame is already of low meaning and value to humans. I also dont think 5k per node is a lot of gold considering how much gold there drops for players.

Yeah I think now there is enough gold for players to respec at least I feel like there is when I’m playing now. I also give it grace as it’s early access. But initially I found myself picking up stuff I don’t need to sell when I needed to respec but I didn’t mind that.
