On the passive tree, the nodes that give more damage to....two handed weapons. When you select more info it only shows the basic skill & I think fragmentation (could also be penetrate) that are effected....but it doesn't list any of the other ammo types. Is this just a bug in the tooltip ? I've find it bizarre that the ammo types wouldn't get the bonus, anyone tested ?

freeze spells like ice nova and chaos damage is a way better combo to run, they die while frozen and it spreads to every nearby enemy and gets stronger, you can kill stuff you can't even see if the mobs are close enough together.

Grenade are categorized as projectiles, and they don't do more damage when you hit more then one in a single volley, unless specified. I always bring in the inventory a copy of both magnified and concentrated for my Explosive Granades. If i've enough damage, i'll add magnified to both gas and explosive and clear screen. If i lack damage, or for bosses, i'll swap for concentrated only on explosive. The bigger doesn't mean more damage in this case, sadly

I started out with something similar, but not with the huge area as this build ends up having (And not as a gemling yet cause I have not done 1st ascendancy). My damage is not great for bosses though, and my tooltip for grendades are around 300 damage. What can I do to get most of my general grenade damage up? I got to Act 2 last boss second phase tonight but I died with the boss around 40% left because of my potions running out of charges. The boss takes a really long time though, because my damage is not so good. Did you use the same build when you were progressing through the acts? 😊

I have no idea about the merc but detonate is a shot right? If so, you basically double your damage, if you shoot a new grande instead of a detonator.

It depends, if you are playing a grenade-centric build, its better to throw other grenades while those are ticking on the ground. If you play something like only using fire grenade then yeah, dotanate set-up is a must.

From my experience explosive shot works fine but its clunky, fire grenades are nice but you have to wait for them to explode (both of them you should combine with oil), the most reliable skill is fire wall from wand as a detonator

thanks, i really wanted to make a crossbow shotgun build and sniper for bosses but it feels really underwhelming compared to granades power. I actually respected my grenade nodes for rapid shot for bosses since I had no dps for forgemaster boss but I'm going to go granades again when I get more supp gems. Early generally yes because the +2 to skill is a multiplier (damage effectiveness) of the flat damage. Example, if you do 10 phy and the skill you use has a damage effectiveness of 200%. 10 + (10 * 3) = 40 phy damage With +2 to lvl it becomes 250% 10 + (10 * 3.5) = 45 But if you add 10 flat phy 20 + (20 * 3) = 80 phy

@ricepicker562 It's the support gem "Scattershot". He can use it on multiple skills, since he's a Gemling Legionnaire. There's also an affix on crossbows, that makes it throw an extra grenade. Last but not least, there's the passive in the skill tree. I don't know the name off the top my head, but you should find it by searching for "grenade" in the skill tree.

Hey, I don’t believe the Overpower or Ruthless Support gems work with Flash Grenade. When I looked this up, both support gems are apparently meant to enhance Melee and attack base skills. Flash grenade is a utility base skill. Basically it seems that both of these support gems are incompatible with this utility skill. So it may be better, ultimately to use magnified effect and scattershot instead.
