You know what man, I have been a sweaty try hard with Diablo 4 trying to consume as much knowledge as I can but when I switched to POE2 I realized how idiotic that was and what a troll I had become. Now I look at streamers like parasites who cannibalize the content as quickly as possible with bugged interactions and overturned builds. Act 1 and 2 in normal are by far the hardest. I'm in maps now and still act 1 and 2 in normal was by far the hardest content I've come across lol

I've been a Diablo fanboy since it originally launched but D4 is just terrible across the board. I never got into PoE because it seemed overly complicated for a casual gamer as myself. PoE2 is such a breath of fresh air for a genre I thought was dead. I've gone into PoE2 without looking at builds or guides. I'm just exploring and trying new things out on-the-fly and having a blast. Yeah, i've seen some videos with people doing mapping and speed-runs and I 100% don't see that in my current build. I think Twitch and all the streamers are what destroyed a lot of these games because it's too easy to just copy someone elses build and it just feels robotic. I'm screwing up along the way, making bad passive choices, screwing up runes and gearing, and it does get aggravating at times... but it's actually fun to learn and experiment along the way. I've created each of the classes and gotten most of them to the 30-40 range and each one feels so unique and any build you go with feels unique as well. Want a battle mage, sure go ahead what's gonna stop you. Want a casting warrior... uhm, ok sure go for it. Obviously there are some builds that are more overtuned than others but having a game so versatile and an open sandbox is very fun, at least for me. I'm at the point now I wish I had looked into PoE a bit more but I'm thoroughly enjoying my merc grenadier.

Tons of good points on this video but my personal favorite was your take on the appearances. The lunch lady characters are inclusive, but I definitely want the option of having appealing characters to my personal taste. Now a lot of gaming companies are jamming some extremely unappealing character designs down the player's throat without any real option to change it. Funny how the script flipped.

This was a Diablo 2 video with a sprinkle of POE 2 🤣 all jokes aside POE 2 is feeling good except for a complete class emblance with Melee vs Ranged and a lack of variety for Melee, releasing with no Sword or Axe skills i think was a really bad call. Warrior is basically stuck to slam OR ...slam, slow and clunky. Just gotta let em cook I guess!

@TheSakufighter I'm clearing fine on warrior too. The issue is it's still 1000 times slower than other classes. And the build is either stampede + hammer of the gods, Sunder or warcry spam. It's not as broad in choice than if the game released with other weapon types. Warrior is underperforming comparatively to other classes. a witch shouldn't be tankier than a warrior, but it is, I can accept slower clear to be a walking tank. But warriors aren't even that. I've seen Mercs with 9k HP and triple the strength stacked than a warrior can. I just hope that axe, sword and flail skills bring a bit of diversity to a class that's feeling pretty stale for me. I have a Titan and a Warbringer both at tier 15 maps, I enjoy the stampede aoe explosion clear. But when I map with anything else i realise how slow it actually is.

Any item can be the best item, whether its a white/magic/rare item, that is the whole direction PoE is going. you can identify a magic item that has 2 crazy affixes and you slam it for more affixes, its no different than crafting in D2, complete RNG fest, but any RNG could be the ONE. its far more accessible for ALL players to "craft" godly items, unlike PoE1 where you needed 19 different systems plus RNG to get 1 chance at one prefix.

It's a bit different and more genius than you think. The RNG of dropping a rare instead drops as a regal or exalted orb. The RNG of dropping a blue magic item instead drops as a transmutation/augmentation orb. The currency so to speak is isolated rng drops in the function of the actual drop itself and sustains the economy respectively. 1 in 10 might drop as a chaos orb or an alchemy orb giving you control over multiple variations over 100's of possible rare drops or more given the bases that could drop you can focus on one base. GGG really doesn't get enough credit for it.

@@reedm7619 A slot machine isn't an innovation nor is it genius. Chaos Orbs and Alchemy Orbs give you anything but control, you're praying to god that when you use this rare currency you get any good affix roll but instead wind up with some junky shit like light radius or thorns damage. Even if you do land on a good affix, you're now also praying it lands on a high tier roll on top of that. It's layer upon layer of gambling and they somehow called it "crafting." It's optimal to never use rare currency and just trade for items. The crafting in this game, despite GGG wanting to make it more of a focus, is completely pointless due to its risks far outweighing the possibility of reward.

@clarencegutsy7309 so you would rather drop 4 rare item bases that you very likely don't use that only sell for gold instead of a timecapsulized orb that holds the same functional rng drop of a rare, but can be chaotically applied to a base of your choice. I'll take the the starting line at step 3 personally instead of seeing thousands of items dropping knowing none of them are useful and the odds of identifying one that is could be 1 in 10k. If you still don't see the genius ggg invented then go back to the way it was before. Imagine that when you bought a scratcher every once in a while you got a capsule winner that allows you to apply changes to another scratcher in different ways increasing your odds instead of just scratching multiple scratchers. Imagine a roguelike without the roguelike. Still don't get it? I thought so.

POE 2 ( I pronounce it like Edgar Allen POE; it’s just more betterer) is a great game. I’m glad I haven’t found 4 legendaries in act one. Maybe it’s possible but hasn’t happened to me. I still like D4 but I’m a pretty casual iso arpg gamer. I generally don’t engage with endgame much. Diablo 2 is the only game I’ve dabbled in endgame. So far I’m having a great time with POE 2. I’m sure I’ll hit a wall but I’ll just look at a guide or something.

The classes in PoE2 are useless outside of the ascendency. You can do any skill on amy character. You're probably playing it too much like d4 where classes are static.

I don't like the dodge roll being so important in combat but on the other hand the slower heavier combat+wasd, the monsters and itemization are all great, I wish this game wasn't an MMO live service bs with seasons, the heavy focus on crafting and trading. In the future they will probably ruin everything listening to the wrong complaints/guides because class A is x times slower than class B at clearing the screen, they will balance all the classes and specs to be exactly the same power and doing so they will ruin the game.

I honestly think bullet heavens like Vampire Survivors became a big influence for the movement. Everyone talking about Dark Souls as if From Software has a patent on rolling when Death Must Die has a dodge as well. But the whole top down + WASD is 100% a bullet heaven thing.

uniques are mostly designed as build enabling than straight up OP once you drop it. The cases where that is true usualliy are really rare or behind a pinnacle boss drop

Unique items are uniques and not legendary they're supposed to do something unique and while a lot might be useless for you and your build they might uniquely enable an interaction and make said interaction build defining. So not all unique item should be op or even good 8f you want that you can make insane rares uniques are here to do things that rre will never do

if you want to use uniques you will need to study the game a lot more to find loopholes and build enabling mechanics. I agree however that uniques should have some base stats to be usable much like poe1 uniques. Don't forget that a ton of item bases are missing from the game which will include a ton of uniques.

my god, you are so wrong about half you are talking about and all of what you said about combat only applies to the compain(mostly for first hlaf), cruel acts and maps are just poe 1 with better graphics and no movement and giant mazes. also maps are giant gatekeep for any experemental build, amout of grind dont allow slow builds, mob damage scale dont allow any no-damage builds you either kill everything before it kills you or you die. also most uniques are terrible in poe2 most of them are just so specific to the point they work only if your whole build work around them, low level uniques dont provide any good normal stats like res, attr, life mana. even in poe 1 uniques are better and they really can boost your build early on. uniques can be fun and usefull but they are too cluttered with bad staff.

While I agree that diablo might drop too many legendary items that you stop getting excited I think Poe 2 hasn’t really gotten it right either yet. I’ll admit that I’m still playing through cruel campaign but I’ve seen like 5 or 6 unique items and every single one of them has been dogshit… so I’m not exactly excited when I see them drop here either.

90s D2 player here and I agree with state ment you made about enemy leveling with you. In D2, if you found a great or godly item, you could feel it and it was awesome. In this game, if you craft a godly item, it’s hard to notice the difference. Lastly, we should get random gear drops that are actually good instead of having to craft everything, other than than it’s a great game.

Devs stated on poe2 their goal is to not even need a filter. People will just to tailor to their certain build to save time but it’s intentional is to not fee the need for one. Also it’s a free game that has one of the best micro transactions of any game so it’s kinda hard to be shitting on them for needing to make some kind of money for the quality of game they give is.
