Also by pressing ALT you can see tier of the mods that you roll. Tier 1 = worst - Tier 10 = best Item levels in Path of Exile 2 range from 1 to 83, with higher levels rolling better mods. Every 10 levels, items become stronger (e.g., item level 3 < 13 < 23 < 33). I'm not 100% sure this is fully accurate, but it should give you an idea.

I think one of the best investments, especially if you bought into early access and have the 300 points is to buy a Currency tab. They're 75 points and they have all the currencies organised in their own places and they stack up to 5k of each currency, and they have a slot for a single item for crafting purposes. Currencies stacking to 10/20/30/40 is one of the things that'll eat through your basic stash tabs real quick, and it's just nice to have that one-stop shop and be content knowing all of your stash tabs are being used solely for items cause your currencies/runes are being funneled into the currency tab.

All of the other tabs are super niche and should only really be invested in if you find yourself doing their respective mechanic a lot. The Unique Collection tab is also nice for organization but isn't needed unless you want to have a nice little museum of your uniques

Regal orbs will always be better than the quality% and socket items because there's so many of those all over the place, but regal orbs are still kind of rare even with the increased drop and salvage rates (6 mod yellow = 2 regal shards instead of 1) from the patch last night. Socketed items have a square on their item label when on the ground, and items with quality will have "Superior" at the start of their name. I would say early on, never salvage rare items because you're going to need a lot of them throughout the entirety of the game and in general you don't add quality or sockets to an item very often, only when you land all the god tier rolls. 6:14 For any new players to poe watching this, he briefly hovers over the helm while saying "none of this is something he wants" but that helm is actually fairly decent with max life and 2 different resists. The rolls are low, if it had higher tier rolls those values would all be doubled, but your early game gear should be focused mainly on max life and resists, while your passive tree can focus a little more on damage. If you're ever not sure what to look for and you're struggling with survivability: a blue item with high max life or a resist roll already on them are worth using an Augmentation on. Only regal an item that has 2 good mods with high tier rolls (+50 max life, +18% fire resist, verus +15 max life, +7% fire resist). For weapons, go back to the start of the video when he's talking about his bow because that's actually a decent bow thanks to the high phys% roll. Not having resists will get you killed very quickly in PoE, and every act lowers your elemental resists (fire, ice, lit, NOT chaos) by 10%.

I'm an energy shield player with dodge (monk) so I just roll away get my shield back then back to fighting.. I feel like with infinite portal and flasks life on kill isn't necessary

I would just sell all the blues the blue orbs drop way more than other currencies and the gold from selling magic items I find more useful, the vendors often carry really good rares that cost a pretty penny.

Do you guys read dialogues at all when taking quests? There's a quest in act 1 to unlock the bench and the game explains what it does through dialogue specifically so people wouldn't need to figure it out from a guide or from youtube

What a fantastic video dude. I didn’t know half of this.. It makes me wonder. With such a nice easy and good crafting system, where any item can be upgraded into something awesome.. and people are complaining that the loot drops are too few and far between. Well, this crafting system is there to make up for it. And it feels to me, like a piece of gear that you have crafted yourself, is much more satisfying to use, than a random drop, which you have had zero influence on creating.. well the problem is that d4 (and many other ARPGS in general) spoiled many players into only finding good loot because they drop like candy. Loot in PoE is about building up currency & gold and slowly building up and making something worthwhile. And when you do find a good drop, it feels rewarding since rare is actually RARE!

I am very surprised that you didn't mention that you can hold ALT to see if you got good roles. So in this example, if you wanted to see if +11 maximum mana was at or around the top of the range for the modifier. (And can the item ONLY roll +1 to spells, or can it do +2?) That's really key in determining if you should spend a Regal Orb, assuming you like the modifier.

There's currently a discount on a very good stash tab bundle. It's called the Exile's Stash Bundle. It adds a Currency, Unique, Gem, Essence, Delirium, Quad, and Flask tab. These perform differently than normal tabs and have special features. The bundle is 435 points. If you enjoy the game and think you'll keep playing it, then look into what those tabs do, so you can consider catching that deal.

Something useful I've noticed if that if an unidentified item doesn't have a socket or quality modifier, it can proc one after you identify. Not sure if intended or not

One thing to consider is the selling price of each item. If you process any of these items, you won't get gold for other needs. So when I'm returning to town, I sell everything worth over 100 gold and then disenchant the cheap stuff. I like to think of it as buying shards for 50GP instead of 250GP. Otherwise, I have a scripted process that I rarely deviate from. Identity > salvage bench (all quality and sockets) > vendor the expensive blues > disenchant yellows and cheap blues.

I wish I had seen this video previously. I started right after the game released and had never played PoE1. I definitely knew the orbs were important for something, but I did not fully comprehend their value or the crafting system itself until now. My major complaint is that it's difficult to hoard items with the inventory being so limited and some items like 2h maces taking up a ton of room. I also haven't been successful in managing my gold properly, especially because I keep making alts and they all seem to share the same gold pool. Definitely a learning experience and a fun game overall!

My advice to everyone: Don't feel pressured to follow all the guides from PoE 2 streamers. Many of them are just trying to drive traffic to their content, and you'll miss out on learning the game for yourself. Path of Exile 2 is actually quite beginner-friendly when it comes to building characters. Even if you make mistakes, you can easily respec and experiment with different setups. The game encourages exploration and creativity, so don't stress about making the "perfect" build right away. You can't really go wrong, and you'll have more fun discovering things on your own.

You don’t have to be too stingy with regal orbs. You can farm these pretty easily by running the Mausoleum of the Praetor a few times. If you are at the end of Act 1, you should be powerful enough to breeze through it in a few minutes per run, and you get a few yellow items to disenchant. The game doesn’t have a level limit on the orb shards, so farming lower level dungeons can get you useful materials. You also get a fair bit of gold from that dungeon as well.

As I am new to ARPGs ( POE 2 is my first game ), the hardest part for me is comparing items and deciding which one is better, I don't even know what to look for in an item that makes it good or just scrap. I have read somewhere that anything that has life and/or resistances would be considered good, is that pretty much it or does it change depending on what class you are playing? It would be nice if when you press 'compare' on an item it would tell you exactly which attributes would increase and which would decrease if you were to change it with your current item.

Any +to skills is good to have. Ive seen it as high as +4 (lv 64 player) porbs goes higher even. Only tab I've brought off the bat is the currency one. Helps with crafting, especially on controller. Keeps it neat and tidy as its pre slotted. Allows you to put a piece of gear in the center and all the orbs etc are around it. The gambling is hit and miss honestly. I've spent a ton of money and only come away with 2 decent items. Maybe worth it more later on things the game when good is more abundant.

I think there's no need in scrapping rare items with sockets. While socketed items are more scarce than rare, you don't need as many of them, because you only add sockets to the item that already had a good roll with regal orb. Which means you need several regal orbs before you add a single socket.

If you get a really great roll on an item that is level 12, is there any way to carry that item with you into higher levels or is that item and it's stats locked to level 12 limited stats? Is it worth inveting resources into gear before I am max level? This is my first aRPG, but I play a ton of looter shooters, and in that genre, it's never worth investing resources in any gear until you reach max level because that gear almost always immediately get outdated as your level up.

The stats will be limited to it’s lower level stats, so you will eventually replace it, until you get to endgame you should consider everything somewhat temporary, the trick is figuring out just how temporary it is and how worth it is to upgrade for that timeframe, for instance an item that can carry you for 5-10 levels might be worth spending some currency on to smooth out your build.

How do the implicit modifiers (Grenade skills fire +1 projectile) work when crafting? Can you find this on a white base to craft on? Do they only show up on blue or higher? I noticed the white gloves you upgraded to blue didn't get an implicit modifier. Is there a way to guarantee that you get an implicit when crafting to blue or is it just random? I am also playing a grenade merc and want to figure out how to find (or make) a +1 grenade crossbow to craft up.

Implicit modifiers are on a per item basis, the bombard crossbow comes with the +1 Grenade and you can find/buy a white version, or even a blue version with good mods and all will have the grenade thing.
