Helpful couple of tips about shadows. 1. generally, apart from attacks out of cutscenes, they act a lot like the cats they're based on. IE. they prefer to stalk you and attack carefully, at least until you shoot them and they go ballistic. So, in fights with mutiple shadows, keeping the gun spam to a minimum is a good idea. This leads into; 2. Just like Sin Scissors, Shadows have a critical hit, which is by far the best way to deal with them. When they're stalking, one of their most common attacks is to shoot their face out as a spike to stab you. If you jump on this spike, you'll catch the shadow off guard (as stated in the files) and in their surprise, you can blast their core directly, almost instantly turning them red even in DMD mode! This alone makes shadows FAR less of a pain on DMD as shadows are decently common, holy waters are expensive, and DT'd Shadows are not something you want to deal with. As for your observations about Shadow. Yes, on easy, Shadow doesn't appear in the main game but does still appear in the secret missions. Tecnically, he doesn't "kill himself" after he turns red. Him turning red is a sign he knows that he's dying and puts all their effort into trying to take you with them. That explosion does a buttload of damage on DMD, might even be a one-shot without DT Ooooooor you already knew about the crit. I'd have edited that into the first shadow fight as an example of "do this, it's the best way to kill them."

I find it ironic how I'm on my 5th playthrough, have already finished Dante Must Die, yet still haven't finished the enemy files lmao. Hopefully I'll be done with it in the next 5 minutes though. Also, the easiest no damage is mission 13. All you have to do is dodge blades shots, spam them with the spear gun, then swim to the exit. Easy S rank and easy No damage

A tip for secret mission 5 is to finish mission 7 then after you get rid of the guiding light. Leave the hallway you are in and go back to the sewers and do the mission with no health drain Killing every blade in the room in mission 11 gives you a fragment Also for the s rank combo trophies using nightmare beta on griffon 3 will easily give you s rank if you shoot him with it

someone mentioned in a comment that i didnt show the blue fragment for killing all the blades in the hole in mission 11 i believe which is my bad. It didn't cross my mind to show that one because i dont see why anyone would willingly ignore the enemies but its still my mistake and I should've shown it. my apologies if this messed anyone up in their playthrough.

When you first entered the poisoned floor, there’s the nightmare-beta and the opposite end was lance and you did the blue orb method. When i did mine, they are both lance.

The lance appears first no matter which side you pick. Pick up the lance then go to the opposite side

I started with DMC2 on the HD collection, so I could save the better ones for later. Platinum is easy once you unlock Trish. Look up the infinite DT trick, it works, and that makes the final bloody palace achievements doable.

I fucked up on secret mission 4 and died. I didn’t know I couldn’t restart the mission during my first attempt. So my question is, does achievement progress track across save files? Can I start a new game/save file, playing up until I complete specific that mission, while still unlocking the achievement without having to worry about the other secret missions in that save file?

Im not sure if i fully understood your question but all secret missions need to be completed on one save file to count for the trophy. You cant have some done on one file and some on another

As long as its the same file you can start a new round on any difficulty. Even if you switch from hard to normal you can still switch back to DMD afterwards

For secret mission 3, even though you can't use weapons you can, in fact, still activate DT and use Alastor's speed if need be. @16:07 Having Air Hike makes it easier but it's not essential. It's tricky (due in part to the camera angle) but you can do a wall jump to get up to that item. I think the way I did it was to jump diagonally up from underneath the ledge (not too near, not too far) so that I did a wall jump and then Dante was able to grab the ledge. Doable but having Air Hike certainly makes life easier. @20:54 There was a yellow orb at the top of the waterfall but I dunno if you were counting yellow orbs in this playthrough as a part of collecting every item even though they are technically items an item. Personally I love fighting the Shadows. I tend to use the shotgun to blast them but, if I manage to get atop it's horizontal spike, I'll quickly switch over to Ebony and Ivory, hit DT and blast it to hit it's critical spot. Otherwise it's shotgun blasts and DT Air raid/Vortex. That said fighting them in enclosed spaces like that isn't very fun though... Actually with regards to the blue/red shield doors, Nightmare Beta is always obtained via the second door you go through regardless of colour. Which means you could get the Lances in the room with the purple "slime" and the gun in the room where you need to create the two movable bridge platforms to get across. Nightmare Beta, if not taken from the opposite door to that of the lances, can be found in the Castellan's bedroom once you go through the mirror in Mission 19. @26:21 I never knew that (at least I don't think I did anyway). That really is sneaky because if you obtained all the items beforehand you'd expect there to be no reason to come back to that area. "...that's just cruel to, like, player's who hate this enemy." Good Job I like them then! lol. Better than fighting Blades, I hate them because they're so boring to fight against. Gimme Shadows and Frosts anytime! And yes they do appear in easy mode but only in both secret missions. @34:50 It's possible to get the second blue orb in the tower without falling back down to the ground. If you step off (NOT jump) the lower tower then immediately jump back up as soon as you see the blue orb appear in the upper tower you can then (hopefully get back onto the ledge you jumped from get it. I forgot whether or not you can get the first blue orb at the same time, it might be you have to "tease out" the blue orb first by stepping off ledge and then jumping back up before you can get the first blue orb. Not that it matters but I just thought I'd mention that as a time saver. Speaking of guns my favourite is Nightmare Beta. It does take up quite a bit of your DT gauge but boy is it powerful and is great against multiple enemies in tight spaces. As for the Bangle Of Time, I rarely use it but it's nice little novelty item all the same.

The sin scythe paragraph 12 is difficult, I don't know if the game has glitches because I have stunned and shot them point blank and nothing. Later edit: So I finally got the sin scythe paragraph 12, the method is you need the pistols not shotgun then jump instead of rolling over to get it.

you have to get the orbs in order, so grab the first one you see me get in that room when i jump off the tower and then the 2nd one spawns (you must have grabbed the first one) so just climb back up and grab it.

I think it's possible he means he got no full blue orb here rather than referring to the fragment as I had the same issue here. Orb fragment 30 said 1/4 but then 31 and 32 seemed to jump to 3/4 and 4/4 which gave you the full blue orb, suggesting there is a blue orb fragment missing from somewhere in between. Great guide otherwise!

@@mapsterbob4084 I was missing one too, and I just found it. It's in Mission 11 when you go underground and six Blade enemies appear (more on the higher difficulties). Kill them all and the blue orb will spawn. Hope this helps!
