@@mogscugg2639 My first thought was Space Ripper Stingy Eyes from JoJo. Even though that's a line attack instead of a cone. I'd probably allow a player to take that with a slightly buffed range though.

@@KingOogaTonTon Understandable, but my player loves it, Even if he's not a jojo fan, before the book came out proper that's what I labeled the placeholder feat in foundry.

Nagajor did nothing wrong. Nagaji are the loyalest of the Ancestries, & held themselves against vicious empires for longer than anyone else. The Sneks took one look at avaricious Dragons & said "Come at me bro." And the Dragons never did.

AUGH! It's not 'Kit soon' it's Kit soo nay. E isn't silent in Japanese, which is where the word Kitsune originates. :) Otherwise, good video. :)
@scottyoung6564
@scottyoung6564 3 ай бұрын
You are correct about Japanese, and the etymology of the work Kitsune. But language isn't prescriptive. If millions of people say 'Kit-soon' then it becomes a dialectical difference. American's aren't out here getting corrected by "The Department of the English Language" on their spelling of "Honour" or pronunciation of "Park" (no "r" sound in that word originally).

I mean if you wanna be picky nay is also wrong (that would be kitsunei), the u is an unrounded (and devoiced in fast speech) u that has no English equivalent and will more or less sound wrong no matter what unless a person is actively studying Japanese, and ki is more accurately kyi (it's palatized). ne would be more accurately pronounced neh and the player ancestry would be more accurately referred to as a Youko (妖狐)anyway.

I wonder why fantasy writers choose to use only East Asia inspired names to represent places and creatures in a fantasy _Asia_ as a whole. Actual Asia is a humongous contintent with very populous and distinct people living on it… The possibilities are endless and I find it kind of boring that they are ignored.
@KingOogaTonTon
@KingOogaTonTon 3 ай бұрын
I think there are Pathfinder analogues of other Asian countries as well, like Vudra being India. But you'll always be right, because the real world is huge and extremely interesting.

@@KingOogaTonTon you are right… I believe I shouldn’t have used the word “only” it’s not very fair because other inspirations exist. Just wishing we see more of other wonderful stuff our world has to offer inspiring fun stories as well ♥️

Asia is too large to include from everyone and they prob will update with other myths at some point. But like samsaran is very much Indian mythology inspired since the blue skin is literally depicted in half the Indian gods
@ldalexandrite
@ldalexandrite 3 ай бұрын
@@muditjohar5323 I 100% disagree on “Asia being too large.” Because it’s NOT about including literally everyone. It’s about having a wider point of refrence and a richer source material. Because fantasy writers did a very poor job about this since the 70s. For example; almost every main story stuff in DnD’s Forgotten Realms is Eurocentric from start to finish, despite Europe being extremely small in the grand scheme of things. With that much focus shifted on other places there would be hundreds more different regions used as refrence. In fantasy writing they just won’t focus on any other area and it’s simple as that. The entire Asia and Africa and Americas in that matter, with their tens and thousands of years of history are heavily ignored and are almost exclusively only there to inspire “distant lands.” *And the stuff we get outside Europe generally tend to be very stereotyped and superficial refrences to just two or three cultures. While countless interesting stories and mythos sit there to collect dust.* Fantasy writers have simply been extremely notorious for not putting their toes in the sea of non-European cultures. Despite Europe itself having its roots in Mesopotamia, North Africa and West Asia. All of which are also ignored in favour of Middle Age and Discovery Era Europe.

I think that’s why they picked Sarangay. Besides, Tikbalang is already a monster in PF2e. You could just go Idyllkin Lineage Nephilim Sarangay and give yourself a horse head.
