I honestly enjoy it more than actual plays. This cuts out the fat and presents a good story and strong cast of characters with the fights made more dynamic and legible. No hour long shopping episodes or jokes constantly interrupting the pacing. I really think this could be a new format for TTRG content!

I definitely had werewolves here, but With a very specialized curse. This ended up being a permanent Feature for 1 of the characters.

Merat county is a really fun portion of the War for the Crown AP overall. I think for many playgroups, these little provincial adventures are the highlight of the whole thing.

I think your changes are good and make sense. The idea of fishing might be fun to some players, but it's a more niche motivation and a low priority. And some wolves definitely wouldn't have been a challenge. Werewolves was definitely the way to go.

As this airs here this week my players are completing the final session of Book 4 today. Its funny watching these backs and realizing how close I was to the adventure as scripted at this time, but how it felt like a substantial deviation. The deeper into the books we go, the more substantially the adventure is a departure from what's in the books. 😅

Changing normal wolves for the werewolves was a great idea, it feels like a very fun battle. I myself have noticed that some adventures have a bit too easy battles for the well-built PCs, especially in case of PFS scenarios, so I too tend to increase the combat difficulty. The only question is how did your players deal with a possible lycanthropy? I’m going to run the third book in Carrion Crown and it had tons of werewolves, and it’s very likely that at least some PCs will fail their saves.

In my game of Carrion Crown one of the players did indeed fail a saving throw against lycanthropy and did turn into a werewolf. At that point you kind of have to decide whether you'll give them a chance to remove the curse before they turn, or if this will be something that sticks with the character. In my case, the character in question was a barbarian, so every time they raged they had to pass a Will save not to go feral. It created an interesting dynamic and a surprising shift for the character from there on out.

Damn, the monk killed a giant fish while underwater? The General? More like the private, amiright? At level 4 they deal with silver DR pretty well. The relics counting as Silver is pretty good at such low level. Heck, I'm surprised the monk is even hitting DR silver so early. If I were to give some advice, I think the size of the monk and brawler were very ambiguous from the animation. I was wondering if they'd been enlarged or something, which we know the party CAN do at the very least. I love this series and hope to see it keep coming. Without a series like this, I might even have passed on this AP if it was proposed, but you've really showed me how good these APs can be.

They were enlarged! Sorry if I didn't make that clear from the video. Aurelius cast enlarge person on _both_ of them so they could climb the switchback more easily (and also be more scary to the werewolves). They shrank down to normal size before they entered the cave though.

Classes and races are in the video description! The level obviously changes over time. IIRC, I believe that during the Werewolf fight they were Level 4.

Very nice Episode, one thing i'm not clear on, why is the count the adversary and not a potential ally, can they never persuade him to ally with their cause?

Great question. As a GM I totally would have made it possible to recruit Count Lotheed rather than oust him from his position as Count, but it would have been difficult. The problem is one of politics. Lotheed is a traditionalist and he believes in traditional Taldan values, something which he believes (kind of rightly) that Eutropia doesn't always. In practice, although she is the daughter of the former king, she is a reformer by nature. To win over Lotheed they'd have to convince him there was good cause to switch his politics, and if you've ever tried to convince someone to change their politics in real life - well - you know exactly how that goes! All that said, I definitely would have made it possible, just difficult.
