Urgathoa is the best goddess. She wants you to enjoy life to the point where you don't want to leave. On top of that, she exposed the afterlife sham of Pharasma. Pharasma wants to judge you, then wipe your memories and send you to the "appropriate" plane. No afterlife with your loved ones, no relaxation after a life of toil. Embrace undeath, and live life (and unlife) to the fullest!

Woops. Good catch. That's what I get for copy-pasting my slide layouts for consistency.

Good point. In farming communities, absolutely. But in cities I would argue a scythe would still draw attention.

7:50 I take issue with calling Naderi the god of suicide, and think it’s more apt to call her the god of doomed love (especially given her origin by Shelyn’s side) Your videos are really good places to start for pathfinder lore.
@Podfinder10 ай бұрын
That's a fair issue to bring up. And you're right, I could have approached Naderi with a little more nuance. I was trying to convey that Urgathoa is trying to turn her into a goddess of suicide, but I could have clarified that better. I'm glad you are otherwise enjoying the videos.

She is the patron goddess of Romeo and Juliet type situations likely would have a mixed view on the play Its a work of art so a positive But touches on subjects bit close to home given her rise to divinity was from such a event which is something she is ashamed of

I have a question. How would a cleric of Urgathoa react to meeting someone who has gained immortality without turning to undeath? While very rare it’s not impossible for a mortal to achieve it. Just look at Aroden. It makes me wonder if such an individual would be praised by Urgathoa for finding a way to continue to enjoy life or be cursed for not embracing undeath like most of her followers.
@Podfinder9 ай бұрын
Good question! I think it would depend entirely on how that immortal responds to undead, and to Urgathoa's other edicts. If they use their immortality to indulge in their appetites, and if they respect the undead, then I see no reason for followers of Urgathoa to oppose them. Urgathoa's edict about undeath is to "become undead upon your death" so if you don't die, then there's no requirement.
@empdisaster103 ай бұрын
I’m currently playing a cleric of Urgathoa actually! Here’s how I kinda approached the situation They would be curious what the terms of said immortality is. Most forms of immortality (including undeath) have various downsides to them such as it being conditional or because of some spell and such. Once they learn this they would then likely try to convince the person that undeath is a superior form of immortality. Your body lacks fatigue, you no longer require breath to fill your lungs, your heart no longer pumps blood letting you survive any wound and through undeath you can achieve divine perfection and try to rally them to Urgathoa’s side as they too have broken free of pharasma’s grasp and should their immortality run out, undeath is happy to welcome them to a greater form of immortality A champion may respond much more violently such as dismissing their claims of immorality as false and heretical to their teachings and the only true immortality is through undeath and that claiming otherwise is a fallacy that needs corrected. They may also view such a person as an agent of pharasma or a psychopomp set to rid the undeath as anyone who has actually achieved immortality must either be in league with pharasma or against her,band the only god actively against her that deals in immortality is Urgathoa

Do you think you'll be making videos about lore without the deities in focus? Like about different topics in the history of Golarion and whatnot
@Podfinder10 ай бұрын
I would really like to. I'm keeping myself limited to the Core 20 for now, to give myself an attainable goal, but I'd love to branch out. Do you have any topics you'd want to see covered?
@orangepeel566110 ай бұрын
@@Podfinder That's reasonable. Personally, I'd love to see coverage of the lore of the Red Mantis Assassins, although I suppose that would necessarily put Achaekek in the spotlight. If there's enough material for it, a Conrasu lore video would be really neat, they're one of my favorite ancestries.
@Podfinder10 ай бұрын
@@orangepeel5661 Oh, Achaekek and the Red Mantis are definitely on the shortlist for videos after the Core 20. Can't talk about one without the other.

Urgathoa looks terrifying. Yep. That's the feeling I feel when I look at Urgathoa. Nothing else. Nothing at all. Nope. I am normal and not strangely attracted to a woman who is over half skeleton.
