Best part of alchemist is infusion. It lets you cast selfonly spells like e.g. expeditious retreat, shield and true strike on your allies&animal companions

But the table shows five ridiculous points for Knowledge (Arcana) and a big thirty for Knowledge (World). So what's the point ? Btw thanks for all this guide.

run out of bombs, does that mean you have to constantly buy bombs? Since there's no crafting in this came where do you get bombs?

...its a class feature. They replenish each day. Have you played the game before?

This guy is an interesting man, wonder how smart you have to be to shot his bad attitude down XD it's always interesting how he dismisses Octevia seeing as she is potentially the superior intellect.

Much better to reroll your own alchemist I think and go for a grenadier. (But that goes for most of the companions after you have done their quests).
