In my eyes Inquisitors are divine bards, that favor meele combat above ranged one. They provide little healing but the buffs are great, teambuffs and personal ones. in a way they are more castery paladins. Judgments do provide good damage and attack bonuses. The solo tactics also enale those teamworkfeats you dont realy want on 2 pc's like tandem trip. The flat damage and attack bonosus from abilities and spells scale well with a lot of attacks -> multiclassing into monk provides high value ( Flurry of blows + AC Bonus). Stern gaze does provide inane perception so you wont miss key magic loot. Expecialy in Kingmaker i believe clerics to be quite a bit underpowered/ not worth the party slot. I find that a paladin + an inquisitor will substitute the cleric role well + you get basicly 2 full fighters on top.

Agreed, especially your thoughts on clerics, this is why I switch Harrim into druid from my first level up.

I sympathize with you, for some reason I never enjoy playing as a paladin, monk or rogue. Don't even know why, I just don't.

Monster Tactician Spell Focus: Conjuration, Augment Summoning and Superior Summoning. Monster Tactician grants their teamwork feats to their summons, so imagine your summon all having Outflank. MT's summoned creature also last longer. Always summon before a fight.

Nice build but you might want to reconsider the Spell Focus Conjuration, since the Spell Focus only helps with spells that can be saved against and summons or heals do not get any benifits. If there are other Conjuration spells you are using that do require save throws then great. See my Divine Spell Focus video for more details

@@rangertony SF: Conj is utterly useless, but you need it for Augment Summon (its a prerequisite).

MT summons last 10x longer than standard Summon Monster, so they're good for multiple fights. Built a 'musetouched' aasimar beholden to Ceydean Cailean (for the rapier) and made it a melee finesse build. Hitting an enemy with a team of Bralani Azata is a hilarious gibfest when the MT or one of the azata scores a critical (Outflank + Seize the Moment + Precise Strike + Imp. Critical [Rapier] + Exploit Weakness.) Since the Monster Tactician shares the teamwork feats with their summons, it can result in a half dozen free attacks. I do have to use the 'Bag of Tricks' mod to fully control summons to prevent my buddies from toasting the party with lightning bolts though.

Most of the games I love to play a simple warrior or warrior/rogue. I don't really like any spellcasters and if a game let me I don't have mages in my party and maybe only a single cleric to heal the party. BUT I'm playing Sacred Huntsmaster of Shelyn and it is great to have a Glaive and a Smilodon so I do dmg by my pet and by attacking from the back line with Glaive but also I have all the skills you need in this game to make your main do everything that is important to do when you have no party with you: persuasion, perception, trickery, athletics, mobility. And I also did pick Air domain so on level 20 I will be immune to lightning dmg and I also have a few lightning type spells to attack from distance. Paladin does not get domain selection but he gets a few auras/immunities and better healing. Inquisitor is more about buffing himself and the party and you can only pick a few spells/level like sorcerer does (but you need 16 WIS) and it is good to have them as picking healing will let you heal your team during rests if you have some spells left while all other spells should be buffs that are like 1minute/level or anything with 10 minutes or more. Stern Gaze is great as it is free perception and free intimidation and there are builds that work great with persuasion (intimidation) + weapon focus + power attack line of feats that later makes everyone in a big AOE around the guy you kill get debuffs and also cleave line of feats with reach weapon + enlarged person buff from any source makes you cleave whole army. Bane from level 5 is great. Initiative is also great for them as they get their DEX + WIS as their initiative. And 6 bonus tactics feat is great as think like this - everyone gets 10 feats, fighter gets 11 bonus feats so a total of 21 and Inquisitor gets a bonus 6 feats so a total of 16 feats. And at level 11 you get something crazy (Stalwart) that if you wear medium/light/no armor it lets you use your Fortitude and Will saves (2 of your best ones from 3) to not get any dmg, so you can tank spells like finger of death for days. Also Sacred Huntsmaster gives all his tactical feats to his pet so that means you and your pet can get free attacks of oportunity, more dmg etc. For me Judgements are weak as they need you to micro manage a lot to get a bonus to hit or to dmg and I'm happy that Sacred Huntsmaster lose them and gets favored enemy in their place. I much prefer to have +2 hit and dmg vs some enemies all the time for the whole game instead of having to cast these bonuses few times a day. I would describe Inquisitor class as something between paladin and cleric while Sacred Huntsmaster as someone between paladin and cleric and ranger. Or we can call Inquisitor a Divine Bard ;) For me it is a great mix and I won't multiclass him as he is already a multiclass in a single class ;) Monster Tactician is a summoner that gives his teamwork feats to his summons and Tactical Leader can give his teamwork feats to his party even if they don't have them for a few minutes. Aasimar Lawbringer (Archon-Blooded) is the best for this class in my opinion as Inquisitor needs all stats and is not a min/max class and bonus to WIS and CON and perception and persuasion from race are great. I build mine like this: STR 14/DEX 14/CON 15/INT 12/WIS 16/CHA 14 and on level 4 you put 1 point in CON and after that all points go into STR. 12 INT is not enough to max all 5 skills I picked but there is a potion giving you +2 permanent bonus to all stats in the game and INT 14 is what you need to have 5 skills maxed so before that potion I put skill points into persuasion, perception, trickery, athletics and mobility only 1 point every 2 levels and after the potion I can give all the new skill points I get for increasing the INT from 12 to 14 for all the levels that you did not get that points.

If you go for a front line inquisitor, you might want to go 1 Fighter 19 inquisitor, I played crusader in such a way, because I like paladins but enjoy roleplaying chaotic good/neutral characters. Fighter can wear heavy armour and use alot of weapon types. Meaning you can pick a diety more freely. Ps Mixing( investing levels in both) caster and fighter is not a good idea but for me it was a necessary evil. 16 wisdom is great, I am not sure you want dexterity over 10( if you want heavy armor, there is a cap to AC bonus, and magic belts with stat increases exist. And you are not a fighter who reduces the penalty in time - dex will be wasted probably), get good str and con.

I'm going to probably try the Hunter version and also have two Fighters in the party, either Val and a Merc (2-H type) or two Mercs. That should be a teamwork festival as the Animal Companion gets the same teamwork feats the Inquisitor does, and the Fighter class has tons of feats to also pick up some teamwork ones. Was thinking of a Barbarian but I can't see how I'd squeeze in all the feats I'd want for teamwork. But mix this guy with Fighters and suddenly feat selection gets very interesting.

This class seems cool, from just playing with that undead elf NPC, but I do agree it's an odd class for the team work feats. I'd love to see a fighter class with solo tactics. But I agree a Bard or Rogue..maybe even the slayer could have had team work feats and solo tactics to switch it up. I tend to like to keep my healers in the back to avoid attacks of opportunity, but that's hard to do with a font line fighter, and most the other divine spells are not that great in this game, other than resist elements in a few areas.
