I have been playing pathfinder since it first came out… But I have to admit unlike dungeons and dragons where I knew the history and lore of the forgotten realms like the back of my hand I never really bothered to learn the history and lore of Golarion. I stumbled across your channel by accident and I am really really thankful to you for putting out these videos I’ve really learned a lot thank you

So, I have added Jatembe to my list of topics and researched him a bit. Very cool concept, and while I don't know if there's quite enough to do a video just on him, I think I will do a Ydersius and Jatembe video, just so I can make sure to have enough for a full video.

Howdy partner, thanks for the lore drops for a new DM. I'm considering using Galarian lore for a campaign i just started. I'm running a gang of Red-skinned Evil Dues (RED) A teifling, a goblin, a hobgoblin and Red Paintd Warforged. I'm so pumped about these guys and I want to surprise my other DM by showing him they're playing in his same world LMAO
@SirVertigo2 жыл бұрын
Omg I love the addition of red painted warforged lol I have a player in a 2e game atm, who plays a tiefling Android. His reasoning for the tiefling add on was that he had been in hibernation mode and was discovered and awoken by the real tiefling in our group, and he calibrated to the first living being he saw, so he's assumed the average living person looked like a tiefling and adopted the horns and tail, but now he can't recalibrate lol

This is great. I plan to link it to my campaign so my players have a better understanding of the world they are playing in. Thank you. I look forward to other lore video's. The background of the religious patheons and info on each diety would be very helpful!!! History of the major nations or regions would be amazingly helpful as well. I made sure to subscribe so I can see other lore you may produce. Good luck and thanks again for your efforts.
@SirVertigo3 жыл бұрын
It's alot of fun making them, and I think I'll do arcs of content, so this is my ancient arc, and will include aroden and A civilization video for Thassilon and Azlant, then I'll move into other things and I think I'll alternate one video a diety, next video a nation and so on? I think that's the best way I can until I get the big topics covered lol. I'm glad to hear it'll help in your campaign, that's exactly why I'm making them!

Both sources about Azlanti knowledge of Aboleths could be correct. Aboleths like to work behind the scenes. So it is easy to see an ordinary Azlanti unfamiliar with those monsters. I also read somewhere that Earthfall was revenge for the Azlanti turning on their former masters. So perhaps for quite a while the Aboleths were the unknown powers behind the throne amd when their activity came to light the rejection was very quick (as was the reprisal) so many Azlanti never got that memo.

Since the lore on the Azlant lore goes both ways on whether they knew about the source of their knowledge and power. I would say the ruling bodies knew and at a certain level everyone else was told that it was their own species that advanced on its own.

Fantastic video, but there is one small thing I need to point out; the map you showed at 1:10 shows the borders of Azlant and Avistan, not Thassilon. Thassilon was limited to modern Varisia and parts of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. Great video otherwise, hope to see more from you!

Good job! Enjoyed the video so far! About the conflicting info, I believe (as far as Rule 0 go) that both can be correct at the same time. It's possible that the Azlanti ruler-class knows about the Aboleth's existence and the role they play in their own ascension meanwhile the Azlanti "middle-class" thought that they don't exist or that they're just some conspiracy theory. Sort of like how we treat the Freemasons except in the above scenario, none of the information about the Aboleths are public knowledge at all. Just my two cents.
@SirVertigo3 жыл бұрын
I actually had an interesting conversation with Erik Mona, the chief creative office for paizo when I posted this video to the pathfinder reddit, and I specifically asked him about that conflicting info, and he stated this: I asked, so in the days/weeks before earthfall, was it common knowledge of the Aboleths plans for Earthfall?" His response was: "100% yes. At the moment of Earthfall, the Empire had been torn apart over it. The paranoia and fear eventually consumed the whole of its society and threw its lands in political upheaval and revolution. It was a shitshow of cataclysmic proportions. You’ll see. ;)" And he said dead god's hand would be so revealing I'd need an earthfall part 2 video, along with Aroden part 2 lol
@Pinewoodpine3 жыл бұрын
I mean, giant meteor incoming - I'm pretty sure a country as advanced as Azlant can see a giant ball of doom approaching them trying to wipe them out weeks prior said meteor approaching. But to think that they knew about the Aboleths? Well now... I look forward to Part 2 and your Aroden video then! I myself am particularly interested in the whole Aroden and Pharasma "relationship."
