All I got from this is that a pathfinder’s job is to set up a drop zone. I would have thought that their job is to find paths or make them for the main element.

Can you do pathfinder without doing air assault or airborne yet ?

Its possible without airborne (though not likely unless you're in a PFDR Co.) But its NOT gonna be in the cards without at least AASLT school. At least as of 2012... That was some time ago. Hope that helps. Good luck. -F Co. 101PFDR here.

Regardless, if you have a torch, you'll end up with all 3 at some point. After all, thats kinda why PFDR's exist.
