Pathfinder WotR: (Angel/Dragon/Legend) Iomedae's Reactions

Their theme song says it well, wisdom of millenia. Gold Dragons are amongst the eldest beings in the lore, waaaaaaaay older than both of them. Sit down kids, grandpa Apsu has this.

@Éfar Isti Of the golden dragons. As powerful as he is the commander is still a lot weaker than Nocticula (a demon lord i.e. a demigoddess) and they're both a lot weaker than Iomedae (an actual goddess). Apsu is a good dragon deity, there is a quest where the deity's son or something like that hatches and wants to join the commander

Tbh, as a normal level 20, in standard pathfinder. My character is quite literally immortal, doesn't need to eat sleep drink or breath, can resurrect herself in hero own demiplane if she dies. And is completely immune to hitpoint damage (could take 5 billion dmg and laugh it off) instant death effects, acid, fire, poison (i mean hitpoint dmg so who cares). Can do 300 dmg spells with pure dmg that can't be resisted, and can only be reduced by half with a save (not reflex so no 0 dmg) (that shit is rare, this game isn't canon rules, and is over the top, the average dmg of a mega god sorcerer level is like 60, not 300) And all kinds of other shit. I literally don't even know how to kill my own character. And I can do that with 20 levels and no mythic power, fuck mythic power dude. Maybe it's better in this game, but in real pathfinder it'd take 20 more levels any day and 1v1000 a couple gods.

It really speaks volumes about how shitty Iomedae is at her job as patron/goddess of crusades, when a fucking demon lord gives you advice that is much better for the outcome of crusade and this part of Golarion in general. And the Legend... I don't know. Lv. 40 is incredibly overpowered, but story wise you pretty much reject mythic powers knowing full well you will have to face even more mythic demons and Deskari himself.

Yes, Iomedae needs to set you on the path. That said, I don't think she'd discriminate if you're Evil or something. After all; it could be blamed on the Abyssal influence.

@@Drahmin05 You gain acces to gold dragon mythic path when you do the quest to find what happened to Terendelve. You need her Claw and her Scale for that. I reccomend watching a guide to check what you need to do. Storywise you are granted acces to Gold Dragon mythic path by a golden dragon. He has kind of divine origins (all dragons do) but is not a god.

You just need to bring (one of) Terendelev's Scale(s) to the Storyteller, then get her claw from a cart in Leper's Smile near Zacharius' Wand and hand it to the Storyteller as well. From there, you should have her old lair location and then you need only show up and spare the only cultist you don't slaughter by default. When Act 5 hits as in this video; you will have the option to become a Gold Dragon.

You're not really getting help from Iomedae. She vaguely tells you what to do, but you have to do it yourself. But yeah, would be a little bit better if she wasn't presonally involved in the story at all. Afaik, that's a common criticism in the tabletop version as well

She isn't distrusting shedding mortality, which she did. She's distrusting fiendish power, which she doesn't touch. A better rebuttal from those who know the lore of Pathfinder would have been "Ragathiel". An Empyreal lord, and the former master of her own Herald, who was born of such fiendish power. EDIT: Ragathiel was born of fiendish power, not the Herald.

@@colorpg152 The point is that, although the argument seems to be to shed the immortal power, it's not about it being immortal power. It's because of the *source* of the power, which is very much *not* what Iomedae used. I'm rebutting the claim that she's a hypocrite for suggesting losing the mythic power. She's not saying "Immortality is bad". She's saying "power born of incarnate evil is likely very bad, and a skilled plotter/incarnation of evil [Nocticula] is arguing for it, so to be safe, I'm arguing against this specific instance of the power." And Pharasma doesn't generally kill things, or she'd be at war with quite a few gods/Outsiders to try and kill them. Especially not immortals. Judge them when they die, yes. And even the immortal will eventually become mortal, such as: Aroden, and potentially some Demon Lords. Including Pharasma herself. And I'm not sure how "for those who want to live forever" is relevant to Iomedae suggesting this. Accepting/refusing, sure, but not to her accepting it.

she was mortal and obtained her divine powers in a similar way to yours, she was not born a goddess, for me nocticula is completely right in the world, Iomade feels jealous and envious that a mortal in a laboratory has achieved a divine level and That is reaffirmed when she conceitedly says that she obtained them by passing some “tests” and that your powers are practically garbage for coming from the abyss, I mean who the hell does she think she is to tell you that? Desna or another god who was not ascended, they could tell you that and find the reason, but she... It should also be added that she is the goddess of envy and fear, she is afraid that mortals will reach her level and that she will stop being useful to the world, she is a trash and conceited goddess, she is still mentally a simple mortal, for that reason she is even nocticula treats her like trash

@@efaristi9737 Just a guess but, she's kind of useless to you the player and had no problem with what you did or were doing up until she found out where your power was coming from, and then ONLY after you've gotten this far using it knowing that harder trials are to come, she tells you to strip yourself of this power and do things as a mortal where from a story perspective seems like an insanely stupid idea. Not to mention she didn't lift a hand to help you at all, not even secretly or with a boon or gift of weapons. Gotta Rem she tells you flat out when asked, that "No I did not send The Inheritor to help or aid you, he did it of his own choice" You'd think she'd help out the crusade more or something after seeing that the Wardstone was screwed with, and the banner had been in enemy hands for 70+ years. It speaks somewhat Volumes when a Demon Lord goes out of her way to constantly help you or make you stronger, for essentially the price of "Win or you'll die, I've done all I can the rest is up to you"

And i do remember the Hand explaining that Heavens and so Iomedae, couldn't send more help for fear of upsetting the balance of the universe and starting an all-out war with all the Demon Lords of the Abyss. @@cosmicjesterz3139 u can ask for her blessing when yoou first descend into abyss , and she will give a 24h buff (not sure if its meant to be 24h or it's some bug that itneracts with the ability that makes every buff 24h) that grows angel wings on every character you have. she also gives u a +6 longsword at the same time nocticula gives you the +8 headband of mental perfection that gives cha bonus to ranged attacks

@@efaristi9737 Yah I understand they "couldn't" help or else it would upset the balance but, again I feel like my Deity of Calistra did more for me than Iomedae ever did personally with all the buffs she could give me when I swore vengeance on someone and was within reach of getting it. Yah, Nocticula had things to gain, but again she kept her involvement very hush hush and no one knew about her secret aid towards you until the near end. I imagine Iomedae could of done the same thing, to some extent

I chose the path of legend, and it was interesting how the game would make you "suffer" to get rid of the wonderful powers that were given to you. It was acutally a challenge to resist the temptation to become a supreme being :D

Because your power comes from Areelu and she wants you to not be influenced by it. She does accept later on that she was wrong and that you are a true angel, regardless of your origins

Gold Dragon is the lamest representation out of all the mythic paths .. dialogue absolutely ridiculous 😆 .. and the specific solution at the end of the game is an absolute troll.
