Nice video and interesting points! I'd just like to share my story. I'm a Malayali Indian but I was born and brought up in London. I was born with a British passport but hold an OCI too, thanks to my parents. My folks are from Kerala. My parents came to Britain in the 1970's, set up businesses here in Britain and sent money back to India. They built their own home in India (they have a house in Kollam, Kerala) and invested in businesses in India too. I was fortunate enough to have spent some time in India when I was a young boy and went to school in Kerala. I can and did speak malayalam growing up at home and I can read and write it too. I know some Tamil and Hindi too. I graduated from British universities, gaining a masters in Engineering and a PhD in Physics and have often wondered about moving to India for work, possibly to an IIT university. My parents setting up a home in Kerala has given me a bond to India which a lot of Indian kids growing up in the UK don't have. The narrator of the video is correct. A lot of Indian kids growing up in the UK can't speak their mother tongue. My cousins in the UK and many Indian people of my generation that are like me (born and brought up in Britain) are pretty settled in the UK, their folks have no assets in India and in fact many have married white British guys and have pretty much settled in the UK. So for those of you wishing to come to the UK but are worried about your kids losing a connection to India and dissolving into mainstream British society then my suggestion is to make investments in India with the money you make in Britain. It's hard to do and my parents struggled a great deal to make a nice life for themselves in Britain back in the 1980's, 1990's and 2000's (when racism was everywhere in the UK) and yet to be able to afford to pump enough money back to India to build those investments. But it's because of my parents hardwork that I have an option to live and work and contribute to India. Jai Hind 🙏

I came here last year as a student, it was a risky decision because I was in mid of my career working for a bulge bracket investment bank in India with good salary and designation. I was not scared but confident that I will switch to tier 2 before my course ends and it happend...I got job in another big investment bank as manager and good package. It takes minimum three years to settle down in any new place. Sadly this will have far reaching consequences for Kerala. Already greedy politicians have made it difficult for us and the large scale migration will have serious consequences. The state will loose its identity and will be dominated by outsiders. Those who have migrated too will loose their identity and their children in all probability will be drawn to local culture. We are going to be extinct in few decades time. First there is no PR. Only ILR. You will only qualify after 5 years if you are eligible. Some visa category requires 10 year stay for ILR. Some visa categories can stay only upto 5 years and have to leave after 5 years as well. So 5 years doesn't automatically guarantee ILR.
