America is not trying to defeat the product it's trying to defeat the purpose . Many people say china wants to bypass the malacca strait through cpec for its energy needs , it's incorrect , China cannot transport oil throughout the cpec The main purpose of cpec is to take control of gwadar port which can be used to counter india and others Cpec project is like China building a restaurant for the Pakistani to run , but it's the pakistanis who have to cook the recipes and serve and manage it Pak don't have the recipes , they don't have the cooks , they don't have the ingredients . China is creating sez but ultimately it's pal who have to build factories or need to attract other countries to build factories , and no one is investing there even china knows this it's a debt trap same like SL . The other use of the cpec is to use this route to export xinnging products , this can help chin to develop their region more and try to sustain the cpec But if xingin products are banned , China won't develop that region , and china won't export through this route then cpec values goes down How will be the route sustainable? How will pak repay?
