So many great places for butter tarts but a good one that can be found all over are Rachel's Tarts. They're made in Trenton but available all over

Pulling into Anchorage AK in 1983 (June) passed Mirror Lake. Said to my buddy "look at those idiots swimming in this weather". We drove from south Florida and were wearing sweats and hoodies. Next summer I was one of those idiots in the water celebrating my 21st birthday.

We were put on the old marine rail lock even when we told them we were heavy and with a 14 foot beam a tad on the wide side. We requested to use the new, at that time (42 years ago), rail lock. We were told it was out of service at the time. Well, we were the first boat of the day to use the old wooden rail lock and as it turned out we were the last. As soon as we were off the boat it started to move down and soon became a runaway. They lost all control of it and as soon as the boat reached the end of the railway instead of coming to a slow stop it just kept going at full speed in to the water. A very big splash we saw as it drove into the water cradle and all. A baptism of sort as we were in a new water system with one lock to go before entering the Georgian Bay. The following year as soon as they saw us arrive, we were directed to the new marine railway.

I loved this video! I can see why you are a bit sad to leave the Trent Severn…I loved seeing the towns and homes along the water…such beauty all around! I’m looking very forward to THE BIG CHUTE! Oh and I would have been bundled up too if I was cruising along with you…I definitely seem to be colder than most! Safe travels!

I knew you guys would love this last stretch if you liked the first stretch. When Jesus was still in diapers, I had an old 20' woody. We used to use the old chute. It was quite an experience. You guys are big into the cooking thing, My ex makes awesome buttertarts with either plain, or almonds, or walnuts. Look them up on the net. I'm sure there are recipes. If you like the commercial ones, you'll love your own. I'm still chuckling about you guys wearing winter clothes lol.
