This lecture, presented by Sheikh Omar Suleiman, discusses Surah Yusuf, how the story of Prophet Yusuf (AS) relates to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in dealing with grief and trials. The Surah gives us lessons about gratitude and patience, and teaches us two du’as which were made by Prophet Yusuf (AS) during his lowest point and highest point in his life.
Everything that we experience and how we deal with our experience links back to our submission to Allah and our purpose in life as a servant of Allah, and also our understanding of what our ultimate goal is in life.

I found out yesterday my brother has skull bone cancer and my uncle stage 4 lung cancer. Both on the same day. I needed this lecture today AlhamdAllah. We should always remember the trials of our prophets so that it grounds us and we are reminded to be patient and grateful for what we still have.
