To be fair your patience is better than mine. Firstly 50p is nothing so pay up or piss off. Second we all like a deal sometimes. Like I might offer 7 or 8 if somethings 10 but if they say no you just say OK and either pay or leave. After 5 or 6 times of taking the piss like that I'd have lost it with him.

I'll never do another car boot while dealing with a an irate customer,who didn't want to pay 2 pound for something his friends where stealing things from other end of stall, didn't notice till walked to that end and thought I can't remember selling all that stuff.

We used to take an our Ldv van full of stuff and do it for 20p we'd get blokes like that filling a carrier bag and thrusting a handfull of coppers at us ....not even 20ps worth then there were the stealers ...i caught one guy dressed very smartly put a camera in his pocket ... Im afraid i lost it and shamed him lol well how low can you get 😡 we used to do this every week different stuff 20p that was in the boot sale "hey day " you see a different side to people that can make you bitter which is a shame ....to some cheap stuff means they can take the piss 😮
