Great idea. One thing that could be done is pitch the pipe towards the water that way you can drain the whole system by using the two water valves. All you would have to do is turn off the spigot and open both water valve on the Y connector and pipe with drain

In long stretches, why is there a need to cut every 2ft vs keep the entire 10ft pipe in-tact and drill and insert the misting nozzles?
@mikeeconomou71884 жыл бұрын
Brian Kaskie My only guess is with drilling the PVC and threading the nozzles in, there’s more of a chance for water leaks around the nozzles? Better to just get the preassembled nozzle/pvc parts and space every couple feet. Again... just a guess.

I learned to glue BOTH pieces.. I see she doesn't..I learned something! also, video didn't show or mention letting glue cure before flushing, I wash taught 8 hours? is it ready for pressure as soon as you finish the last joint?? also, I would NOT cap the drain with a threaded plug, but rather a VALVE ($5), no tool necessary to periodically flush (I leave em out back and htey rust...Harbor Freight gets a lot of business from me:( ) the VALVE would also allow expanding/adding on. I put in a $5 shower head for kids to rinse off outside if chlorine bothers them..saves me a house full of wet tile!

a lot of nozzles are 3/4 go. so depending on how many you use most would be anywhere from like 4.5 to 25 gph.
@Mrkevi1238 жыл бұрын
Each mister uses a about 2 liters per hour. A regular hose can fill 2liters in 5seconds. So if your system has 8 misters, 16liters per hour or roughly 1 liter every 4minutes.

Problem is, this type of system using PVC tubing without a high pressure pump driving the mist and pressurizing the system will make everything wet. The particles aren't as small as those running at 1000 psi and will take longer to evaporate. Also, tough to expect 20 degree temperature drop with hose bob pressure of 40 to 80 psi. Can't integrate a high pressure pump with PVC, it isn't rated to handle that kind of pressure.
@rosemaryhall581110 жыл бұрын
So Mike, are you suggesting stainless steel and a high pressure pump? Also, the misters I've seen in restaurants aren't constantly running, but usually pump out a spritz every minute or so ...
@khonggwan10 жыл бұрын
install it outward. and it will also water the grass
@mikemulqueeney57759 жыл бұрын
Rosemary Hall I apologize for the significantly tardy reply to your question Rosemary. I didn't see your question until just now. Yes, either stainless steel or a high pressure flexible nylon line that can handle the pressure when using a pump. When you see systems that are "spritzing" every minute or so i suspect that is do to nozzle clogging issues. High pressure pumps really shouldn't be cycling on and off that frequently as the motor will heat up and easily become damaged. I would recommend Koolfog for assistance helping you design a system properly for your unique application. They have do it yourself kit systems as well as true commercial grade systems. Be prepared though, cost of a high pressure system versus a hose bib water pressure systems is like comparing the cost of a bicycle to a car.
@mikemulqueeney57759 жыл бұрын
Mike Mulqueeney - also filtration is critical to ensure reliability. Nozzle orifices are smaller then a human hair when using a high pressure system.
@ecoscience13707 жыл бұрын
Mike Mulqueeney How do you mean, the cost of high pressure is like that of bicycle to car, do you mean water consumption rate or the price of purchase. plz clarify
