@@SgtR3ynolds I think this is the matter of the genre not necessarily the time period. sci-fi, especially hard scifi aims to ground the world in a possible reality in the future. Hard sci-fi isn't really as popular as it was in the 90s.

Meanwhile, Hajime isayama as kid: Wow this is so good!!! It would be cooler though, if the human fought giants instead of robot, and the only weakness that giant has is on the back of its neck... Thus that day, The idea of Attack on Titan was born...

Even in late 80's aka the golden age of anime, English voice-over still sounds cringy as all hell.
@Bustermachine3 жыл бұрын
Eh . . . Noah's voice is the only one that's all that cringey here. But then I have a pretty high tolerance for that stuff. You have to go to the bad old days of Yuri Lowenthal voicing the entire supporting cast before I really can't tolerate the english dubs. Stuff like Cowboy Bebop, the Ghost in the Shell Series, DRRRl, their english voice casts were all fine.

@Lehr-km5be3 жыл бұрын
Well, you do not need subtitles to understand screams. And those screams here in the dub were absolutely atrocious - not only there was no emotion in them at all, but they rather sounded more like moans. So yes, the original version is better.

That's animation and detail you don't see in modern shitty, cheaply made anime
@Butterstix20143 жыл бұрын
Actually, I would argue that there are some good, well-made anime nowadays. They’re just hidden amongst the piles of garbage anime. I think that’s always the way it’s been. We just notice the good anime because they’re remembered. Even the hidden gems. Also, with the internet, nowadays, people hear loads of news about shit anime, so the good anime might be drowned out in the noise.
