Happy to see a Metal Gear fan. Something about this theme really reminds me of the opening theme of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (1990). Some elements of the mecha design as well.

Going from a lighthearted semi realistic mecha show to hardcore police/political thriller is a brutal move from Oshii, never liked him as a director, but these two movies are sooooooooooo criminally under rated. I still keep close to my mecha nerd heart some of the scenes of these movies, even Wyvern, no mechas, just pure tension and meaning. Genius!

@@patrickweller5254 Not liking a director doesn't mean not liking a movie or show, I liked GITS, the manga was already a bit slow but being directed by Oshii... sometimes it felt like he slowed it down to a crawl and being a movie which is recommended to watch a couple of times to pick as many details as possible, such slowness made it VERY difficult to accomplish

Sorry can't say I agree I think it ruined Patlabor. I really liked the outlandish feel of it, scientist getting "revenge" from beyond the grave, the wind speed thing, the Ark fight all amazing....... then it turned in to nothing but politics and became boring "country vs country" fights of which there are already maaaaany of. Should have stuck to sci-fi weirdness.
