A Look Back At The Sanei Sonic The Hedgehog Plushes!

When we talk about previously released Sonic plushes, we usually bring up the legendary sets released in the late 90s and in the early 2000s, however, there have been some more modern Sonic plushes that have been picking up in popularity, and one of those sets are the Sonic plush sets released by Sanei! In this video, we'll be taking a look back at both the 2007 AND the 2012 Sanei Sonic plush sets!

The 2012 Shadow means a lot to me as on Christmas Eve in 2012-2013, my parents took my best friend and me out to see some Christmas lights at a fairground and gave us presents early. My best friend got the Sanei Shadow while I got the GE Classic Knuckles, our respective favorite Sonic characters at the time. I believe I still have Knuckles and my friend most likely still has Shadow.

I know this is a three year old video, but I know a method that may help flatten out '07 Knuckles' dreads; a handheld clothes steamer. You can get one pretty cheap and they work well for things like this. The heat of the steam helps soften the fabric and because it's not too hot or too wet, it cools down really quickly, and as such, it sets the shape.

So thanks my man! My personal favorite plush out of all of the ones covered In the video is the 2007 Small Sonic. It's personal my favorite Sonic Plush of all time and I just think It's amazing and captures Sonic better than any other modern Sonic plush does, I just have always felt like no other Sonic Plush has been able to nail that Sonic look and for me this Is the *only* Sonic Plush that does that. I've always wanted one, but I've only seen it on eBay about 4 or 5 times and they were all priced In the 80 - 120$ range. Do you know why this Is and where I can get one for 30 dollars or less? It's insanely ridiculous how expensive sonic plushes can get. If I want a high quality, soft, decently sized, & accurate sonic plush, I literally have to go out of my way to get one. Granted, of course there are a few exceptions to this. In fact, I've already bought a couple that I liked. However, the one's I really, really, want & that look the most appealing to me, cosmetically, always end up being the most expensive. So frustrating. Wish these things can get re-releases so that the market isn't so oversaturated with greed. Who the hell is going to drop $2,000 - $3,000 for a Soap Shoes Sonic Plush?

I remember in around 2019, I got the 2012 sonic plush for 60 bucks. Now in 2024, it’s around 600 dollars for a new plush. Honestly I feel like this video has something to do with that. Whoops. I always dreamed of having the Sanei Amy plush as a kid. (the 2007 one since that was the only one at the time and that I knew of) I saw one online when I was 10 while getting Christmas ideas or so but I ended up getting a bootleg instead on Christmas day.
