Considering the size of the room it is a great deal. Sometimes it is worth spending a little extra for comfort. I'm sold on the bathroom! Too bad there wasn't a self-serve laundry. Guangzhou in June is hot, daylight over 40 degrees, humidity 90% plus and by night is still strong heat around 35 degees, untill end of september Guangzhou and south of China is crazy hot over 45 degrees sensation. I lived in Guangzhou in Tian He district for the last 8 years. Food is not expensive but imported meat is expensive actually everything which is imported is really expensive in China. Metro and bus are very cheap, even taxi is cheap. Rent an apartment is expensive specially in Tianhe, Liede and Zhuliang new town, around these areas apartments are insane expensive but around this area is the most clean modern and international area of Guanzghou.

Hi Patrick. I'm planning to go to China (Shanghai / Hongkong / Guangzhou???) around the end of this summer so I've been watching some of your videos already. But I am really anxious about this because I don't know the language. I'm trying to learn the bare basics but... my brain is so sloooow. As this is my first trip, (and maybe for other first timers) would you have any tips about how to make this more 'local', as how you found your accomodation, etc... How would you prepare for this? (money, phone, health, ...) Thanks a lot for sharing your travel adventures.

Fluffy Bunny you should definitely consider renting a room through Airbnb, and about the language, as long as you have google translate you will survive. Also apps like DiDi(china’s Uber) will be very useful. Beware that this season it gets really hot throughout the entire country. You should definitely come to Guangzhou, you would enjoy it for sure, it’s a very nice city 👌🏾

there's no need to worry about the landuague in the big cities of china. a great number of the younger generation is able to sepak english. and google translation will help you a lot. it's good to buy a local sim card when you landed on the airport, so that you can have the internet access.
