Patras to Athens and the Sportster has more issues!!!

We are so excited to be in Greece. It feels reminiscent of Turkey and we realize that there's not far to go now! The road is along coast line so the view is glorious along the way. We have a short detour when google takes us up into the mountains for petrol! We don't mind, we love mountain roads!
Disaster strikes again when the brakes have a critical failure and we nearly back end a camper van!
Its a good thing Simon is an alert rider and we narrowly avert a more serious event!
There is a bike mechanic a short distance away so I hop off and let Simon take the bike to the mechanic, both secretly thinking the journey is over! However and to our great relief the mechanic gives the bike a look and a test ride and is happy that everything is ok. We carry on our coastal journey to Athens, stopping to look in awe at the Corinth Canal.This is a man-made canal which was started in 67AD then again in 1881 and completed in 1893, it cuts through the peninsula making it an island. It links the Ionian sea to the Aegean and transformed maritime navigation in southern Europe.
We go onward to Athens and find our hotel, the
Mansion hotel
We explore Athens which is a juxtaposition between the serene beauty and hectic city life. We need to visit the Acropolis tomorrow as we run out of time...
There is an enchanting Disney restaurant area which is a surprise but my mission is to find Iggsy an Indian restaurant - mission complete!
Early start tomorrow to see the Acropolis and to catch our ferry to Chios! Lets hit the high sea's once more!

Rhodes is very close to where we live in Fethiye, a short 2 hour ferry ⛴️ from the marina here👍Greece is a lot like Turkey in many ways. 😀

Wonderful coastline ride in a beautiful part of the country. Please let the "Relive" run a little slower, it's interesting to see your route but difficult to absorb at that speed. Lucky that the brake problem was not a big, nor tragic one. You're both looking happy despite the many kms straddled on your Iron Horse. Thx 4 update 👍.

Thank you for your comments, they are always appreciated. Also, taking aboard your advice we will run the relive slower 😀 , however next Fridays video may slip through the net as we have already edited it( sorry) . We were very lucky with the brakes, it must have been grit stuck in there somewhere and it broke itself loose.

I was going to say the same thing. Perhaps if you can hold the last frame of the map so we can take in the route?
