I have autism and one of the ways that I manage paying attention in class without getting overwhelmed is to draw and listen while I'm drawing instead of taking traditional notes. I tended to do really good in my classes, and I had a college professor who hated me for sitting in the front row and drawing during class and then subsequently getting perfect scores. The teacher stories at 52:00 reminded me of a time I got caught "cheating". I had a chem teacher that didnt like me because I kept losing homework to his class somehow and having to redo it. So one day I get to class and I'm exhausted because undiagnosed adhd + least favorite class = sleepy, so I get there and he brings up a sheet he gave us the night before. In my sleepines I thought it was notes that I had missed, so I asked the girl next to me if I could see hers so I could copy it down really quick so I had my notes for the lesson. He yells at me from across the classroom that "If I was gonna cheat I shouldnt be dumb enough to do it during class" and he kicked me out to the hallway. When he came to talk to me I told him I wasnt trying to disrespect him, I thought that the sheet was for notes and I was just trying to catch up on my note taking because I wanted to do better in his class. He got all quiet after realizing he yelled at me for legit trying and after that he was way nicer to me. Still didnt like his class though, lol

Damn nathans substitute teacher story was so much more tame than i was expecting. We had a fairly regular sub at my school who wouldn't tell us his name and made us call him sensei (this man was white) and when kids were late he would make them tell him a joke and if they could get him to laugh he wouldn't make them go get a late slip. Super weird power trip he made everyone uncomfortable i skipped his classes when i knew hed be there.

One memorable substitute I had was "The Tinker Sub" when I was 11. He came in a purple silk button up, Tinkerbell tie, and had a Tinkerbell pen. Now, maybe he was just trying to engage with young kids and be fun and quirky, but he had like. A Weird Vibe. The whole class thought he was weird and over-friendly. I remember he came up behind me at reading circle and put his hand on top of my head as he addressed the group. Just don't think he needed to touch me is all. Nothing happened but the whole class thought he was weird.
