That's what gets me. This lady could just listen to something else, but she doesn't think anyone else should be able to listen to it either. Her arguments make no sense. If "the nation" was tired of Opie and Anthony, then why they were one of the most popular programs in the country at that time? She assumes everyone who listens must find rape funny, because she's too stupid to understand that the absurdity of the scenario is what makes rape jokes funny, not the act itself.

🤣This is the equivalent of someone going outside their house and erecting a tall ladder so they can climb it and look over their neighbor's high fence while pulling aside some tree branches to be able to finally see into their bedroom window so that they can complain about seeing the neighbors naked. "why are you laughing? She's OUTRAGED!!" Lmao. The fact that people in that studio laughed actually proved his point lol. Some people will think something is funny, some won't. You can't rob people of their basic right to free speech because YOU feel offended. The world is an offensive place, deal with it. There will always be something out there that offends someone that you just can't do anything about. That woman stomping on free speech offended me, but am I going to let it ruin my day? Lol no. Part of being an adult is learning to control your emotions. Otherwise u just end up being miserable everytime someone says/does something you don't like, which is usually most of the time lol.

A little context: Opie and Anthony got in trouble because they encouraged fans to have sex in strange places and call the show, and one couple went into a church and got arrested. Opie and Anthony did get in trouble for that however the majority of this convo was centered around the don imus “nappy headed hoes” comment (which Patrice and o&a also defended his right to say). The right was crazy back in the late 90s early 2000s, they tried to censor anything anti church or Jesus.

“Women have been abused in the media for too long.” Imagine making your living off of deceiving others, pushing fear, and lies….and every day you wake up and convince yourself to go bullshit the world for more money. If I were on the show I would’ve been like, “Are you out of your mind?…women have been abused in the media, how about like a shred of evidence at all, to support your claims of abuse? The quicker you ditch your victim mentality, the better your life will become.
@saiyanleague653
@saiyanleague653 Жыл бұрын
My issue is getting to a place with maturity as an adults. There are people you walk by everyday men and women that have been victims of abuse in the worse ways. I think we should achieve being a loving society, and be kind to others because you never know what that person just walked out from. My best friend is a R victim and i think that if your loved one was an R victim as well, you would be very careful what kind of jokes you made around them. UNLESS you two have a specific, special relationship to make jokes like that. I think anti social justice warriors are just as sensitive as sjw's and its ok to GROW UP and learn sensitivity. If you're making jokes like that and not making society a better place, than what are you? What's a joke if you never get serious? I'm not saying you should be cancelled but this discussion should stay opened minded for both sides.

I don't understand censorship. You should be free to discuss anything. You should be allowed to call someone an a-hole, and that person should be allowed to call you an a-hole back. Opie and Anthony were banned from Boston when they worked there at a radio station. They said The mayor at the time had died and presented as a breaking news story. He was alive and well and furious. Before that they had a "win a hundred grand" contest and once a winner was chosen they called him up and put the winner on-air. They asked him what was he going to do with the prize. The guy replied he was going to buy a house for his mom and do all this other important stuff in his life. O&A said how are you going to do that with a candy bar, the prize was a hundred grand candy bar. The guy blew a head gasket and tore into them in a torrent of obscenity and threats. Patrice is the best but O & A are hysterical on their own. "Tough Crowd" is another great forum to hear Patrice with other very funny comics.
