Wonderful interview with a wonderful and underrecognized actress. A few years ago I went to a showcase of Todd Almond's work at Lincoln Center, mainly to see Courtney Love, who was one of the performers that night. As I was waiting for the show to start, I heard Ms. Clarkson's unmistakable, throaty laugh behind me; I immediately recognized it, turned around, and sure enough, there she was a few rows above me. Funnily enough, I was a grad student at Fordham (her alma mater) at the time. I remember reading in the school paper about her coming to talk to the graduating drama students each spring.
