Don't mind the 14 seconds of silence at the start, this album was made to synchronize with the film, and that's where the opening title screen is.

A Photographer who never takes their eyes out the cameras view finder, the artist has been here for more than a retail shift. Standing in grass, bugs have crawled up the fur on their legs, and the whole world is a square, a square that waits for development, one frame of film is all that will ever come out of today's work.

I love how the ambiance of this album adds a new layer of texture to the film but just enough to keep the original simplicty in tact. I also really like how the line at 1:27:36 forces the listener to reflect on this album and film, just before the final 10-minute clip. It's 4am, so I'll probably listen to it in more depth once I get sleep.

Watching the movie while listening to this is very recommendable, that was such a calming experience. And that little fourth wall break near the end was so nice, it completely changed my perception. It was no longer just me watching the sky and listening to the sounds, I suddenly felt like I had enjoyed all that in pleasant company. Thank you.

Playing this while I paint a twilight landscape study of my home city. Thanks for your artistry once again
@nottheborg8366 ай бұрын
stunning as always. I had this playing through speakers with my bedroom window open and sometimes the ambient noise from outside (birdsong, the breeze, the occasional car driving by) blended so perfectly with the music that it was difficult to tell what was coming from where. in answer to your question, I was thinking about how the sky and the sea are often just reflections of each other.

i love how you use the ambient audio of the movie to enhance your own music. like they're inseperatable and thats amazing. soo abstract, kept waiting for some synth riffs but it's ethereal droning.. like the skies themselves

I saw this in my sub box, and as soon as I had the context for what it is, I immediately put it on and went outside to look at the clouds in real life for a half hour. 10/10 would recommend, it made for a peaceful period of mindfulness. I intend to continue through the rest of the soundtrack alongside cloud-watching when I have the opportunity.

@MarkusIfquil6 ай бұрын
hey patricia, im not really a huge fan of your work, i've only listened to a few things that were made by you (rhythm doctor and bicycle, bicycle is really good), and im probably not gonna listen to this whole album, but i feel like i should comment not only to boost your video but just to show that i appreciate this kind of music, and this kind of artist. and i dont just mean "furry autistic tactile electronic music" but that does play a part, i mean the fact that these albums were created to have meaning, theyre just BEGGING you to examine them and understand them through your lens as either a musician, a listener, or both. i mean at a base level every piece of art no matter how basic elicits thought but i feel like whenever i listen to your music even passively i start thinking about what i feel and what emotions this piece of art WANTS me to feel. you might say "music doesnt really have meaning if it doesn't have lyrics, and even then its mostly useless, most people are gonna just bop along to the beat" and that's true for most of the pop and rock songs i listen to, but patricia, you know how to twist and weave music to really nail down a certain emotion or action. i really loved bicycle, not only because it made my autistic brain go "damn it feels like my brain is popping bubble wrap" but because after a few minutes of listening it felt like i was really on that bicycle, going down a dirt track somewhere with the wind blowing into my face and just clearing my head by focusing on the sunny day and periodic clouds. i dont have a strong imagination, i probably have aphantasia, but while i couldnt exactly imagine it i really felt it, and its the same with this album. patricia, i appreciate you as an artist and i hope youre doing well.

I think I only see this kind of consideration for sound design and atmosphere in compositions for movie soundtracks, and now I get what she said about her music as soundtracks for her album covers
@kvasman8346 ай бұрын
I want to quickly throw my hat into the ring (if the idiom applies here?) and vent out an opinion that I've been having for a while, is of how truly emotional and autistic Electronic Music (atleast anything to do with Electro House for me) is in general. Like for example with Thomas Bangalter's (Daft Punk Silver Robot) Club Soda, which geniusley amplifies the party vibe that the sample had with the inclusion of bell sound effect (I think?) sounding like clinking of glasses, or a little bit later with Daft Punk's Rollin' & Scratchin' giving of an angsty/anxious chase sequence or ride to somewhere. So what I'm getting at is that EM always had autistic and emotional roots with repetition and texture being coded in it's conception (even before Aphex's tactile beats with his IDM/Braindance) and it's something to cherish and to try and give/spread to the world through the mixing of all types of genres and feels with examples like Vaporwave/Future Funk and even Breakcore!!!

Ah I almost forgot to comment. This is really good. It feels much shorter than it actually is. Watching this together with the movie was a nice chilling experience. Pretty mediatory. The sounds from the film helped to amplify the music. The music changes ever so slightly over time just like the clouds. Keep going with this!

At first I was a bit put off by the silent gaps between pieces, but it makes sense after I actually bothered reading literally the first comment, I am silly. Now I want to watch the film, with this playing ofc. I discovered your music this March and have since been utterly obsessed with your work, both video essays and music, though I don't think I've commented before. I could not stop grinning when I saw that there was a new album. Magnificent as always
